For more than seventy years, the annual Boy Scout Chicken Dinner has been a time-honored tradition in Putnam County. The dinner supports our hometown youth as they learn to become tomorrow’s leaders through adventure, service to others and character development.

Tickets are available now for only $15.00. You can purchase tickets at Gator Pool, located at 3902 Crill Avenue or Deputy’s Attic, located at 623 St. Johns Avenue. You can also comment on this post with your contact information, and we will happily deliver tickets. We respectfully request cash sales only.

This annual tradition is made possible through a partnership with St. James Independent Methodist Church. The dinners will be available for pick-up on December 13TH from 11;30 am until 3:30 pm at the St. James Fellowship Hall, located at 400 Reid Street.

Our annual Springs trip is this Sunday!

Please arrive at the Welaka Boat Ramp by 7:30 AM so we can depart no later than 8AM to get a good spot at the springs.

The boat ramp is located at the corner of Elm Street and Front Street.

Please respond (through remind) and let us know if you need transportation assistance.

Bring towel, non-spray sun screen if needed, $14.00 cash to enter the state park for the springs.

All food and drinks will be provided.

Another amazing high adventure trek in the books for Troop 235!

We had a blast on our New River Experience at Summit Bechtel Reserve last week. Big Joe runs a great program there, and our guides Caroline, Mason, Nick, and Zack were awesome!

I can’t wait to find out what our youth will pick for our 2027 high adventure!

CALLING ALL PARENTS !!

We still have spots open for our assigned parking days at the county fair. This is a huge fund raiser for us an we need all hands on deck! If you are going to Summit  this summer, you are expected to work multiple shifts to cover cost of that high adventure trip!

All Scouts and parents are asked needed and taking more than one shift will be very helpful. Please follow the link you were previously sent sign up parents and Scouts. We will once again and be providing free passes into the fair for everyone who helps.

If anyone is having any issues with the sign-up genius link or have any questions, please contact Mr. Joe as soon as possible.

Crew instructions for our boating adventure Friday!
* The marine forecast predicts scattered thunder showers (about 40% chance). The trip is a go regardless of weather at this time. We will exercise safety precautions to navigate around potentially dangerous weather.
* We will meet at the Welaka Boat Ramp at 8:00AM. If you need a ride from Palatka, let us know. PLEASE BE ON TIME.
*NEW GREY TROOP SHIRTS REQUIRED
*I would recommend a hat
*Feel free to bring a towel but please pack light. The boats will be near capacity and places to stow gear will be very limited
* NO spray sunscreen allowed on boats. It makes the decks slippery and can be dangerous
*Lunch mess will consist of hotdogs, condiments, Nettles sausages, Little Debbie snacks and chips. Bottled water on board. If you want something else, please bring it. COOLER SPACE WILL BE VERY LIMITED
*All safety equipment is already on board
*Again, please pack light as safe storage space will be limited

Update: if Scouts want to enter the Silver Glen Springs recreation area, they will need to pay the entry fee of $13. They can be in the water and swim near the boat without paying the entry fee, but must pay the fee to swim over in the area of the springs.

We are covering lunch, but Scouts may wish to bring a little money for slushies/ice cream available from the snack bar.
