Every Friday morning — rain, cold, or shine — a group of men gathers at a local park for fellowship.
When our veterans are in town, they’re invited into this space. Many of them tell us it becomes the highlight of their time here.
At The 22 Project, we understand that healing doesn’t happen in just one realm. Yes, there is physical healing — but there are also the wounds of the soul. The ones that come from what was seen, done, or survived. Those wounds have a name: moral injury.
That’s why we make space for community, conversation, and — if a veteran chooses — spiritual reflection and repair.
This past week was a testament to that commitment. Temperatures dropped into the 40s — basically unheard of in South Florida — and still, the circle formed. The weather didn’t stop them. It never does.
Healing often begins in quiet, ordinary moments — like standing in the cold together.
