To the many who contributed to the Thanksgiving Basket Drive, whether through monetary donations or assembling the baskets yourselves, I cannot begin to thank you enough. Your kindness, generosity and sacrifice have met needs and encouraged others more than I can possibly put into words.
These baskets are not just a meal on a table. They are a glimmer of hope during incredibly hard times. They are an affirmation to the many that feel unseen - “you aren’t forgotten”. It’s a “thank you”. It’s a “you matter”. It is assurance that their family can be well fed and enjoy a meal together.
I was given the honor of distributing 97 baskets over the past few weeks. Here are a few stats of the many people cared for:
-50 local families that have fallen on hard times were gifted with a basket
-15 Mount Laurel families in need (through the care and direction of an incredible social worker) will be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together
-24 local emergency responders will now not have to worry about tomorrow’s meal
-5 families with either one or both parents incarcerated have been provided for
-individuals in local recovery ministries, the homeless, the jobless, etc all have had needs met through these baskets.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your kindness is a gift. Grateful for all of you! Enjoy your Thanksgiving and hug your loved ones tightly.
And a huge thank you to Kristi Hansen for your incredible vision and hard work in putting all of this together!
