🚧 Request for Proposals Now Open: National Pike Trail Feasibility Study 🚧

Claysville Borough is seeking qualified consulting firms to complete a DCNR-funded feasibility study for the proposed National Pike Trail.

The study will evaluate opportunities to develop a multi-use trail corridor connecting communities from the West Virginia state line through Claysville and toward the City of Washington. Work will include trail alignment analysis, public engagement, environmental and ownership considerations, infrastructure assessments, and implementation recommendations.

This effort represents an important step toward understanding the feasibility of transforming the historic National Pike corridor into a recreational and active transportation asset that connects communities, supports local economies, and expands outdoor recreation opportunities.

We occasionally ask for some help here. I know everyone is busy, but we really, really could use some physical help at times to maintain our beautiful community trail. There are only a few of us that show on these days, and none of us are young. I am making a heartfelt plea to have help on Saturday morning June 6th from 8-12 in the first tunnel to take down scaffolding. This is to do the renovation necessary to fix the ceiling of the tunnel. Please consider trying to help- even if you can only spare an hour or two. The more that show, the quicker we get it done and the less burden on each. Thank you and hope to see you!!
