Knollwood residents! We are excited to continue the Spring cleaning THIS SATURDAY with a roaming trash truck.

Please have any trash items at the curb in front of your house by 8am Saturday 6/20 for collection. We recommend putting trash out the night before.

*Please note*
No paint, oil, gasoline, pesticides, chemicals, batteries, propane tanks, electronics, fluorescent bulbs, medications, needles, asbestos, or unknown liquids. These items can harm workers, neighbors, waterways, and the truck equipment.

Bring household hazardous waste to a DSWA Household Hazardous Waste Collection instead. New Castle County options include the Delaware Recycling Center in New Castle and Newark Recycling Center collection times. đź”— https://dswa.com/programs/household-hazardous/

Big thanks to the neighbors who helped finish the Knollwood cleanup in Claymont— Ray, Mikey, Rob, Stuart, and Gary filled two dumpsters in the summer heat, and Shelba Ohles had all of us coordinated.

Thanks also to Evergreen Waste Services for dropping the dumpsters and hauling them out fast, and to Keep Delaware Beautiful for linking CC4EJ up with Evergreen to make it happen.

A huge thank you to everyone who made Saturday's Knollwood cleanup happen. đź’š

Neighbors, families, and kids came out and pulled out of the woods what doesn't belong there — a mattress, an old TV, tires, bags of trash dumped in a place people call home. While folks hauled trash, kids planted learned about soil health and took native plants home to grow. Special thanks to Melody Muhammad for leading our planting workshop and Myesha Denise
Production ~~ (video coming soon!).

Thank you to everyone who brought hands, tools, and food: Claymont Fire Company, Claymont Lions Club, Project Seed Delaware, Bellefonte Lions Club, New Knollwood Community Center, NMS Watershed Alliance, Marcus Hook Area Neighbors for Public Health, Veolia, Delaware First Health, Rep. Larry Lambert, Councilman John Cartier, Village of Arden Town Assembly Chair Simon Hamermesh, Java Bean Cafe and NY GYRO & GRILL who fed the crew.

We also met with Rep. Larry Lambert and Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) to push for the bigger fixes — clearing the clogged drains on Alcott and Denham, hauling the dumped trash by the 495 footbridge, and repairing the broken fence. DelDOT already sent a crew out who cleared the trash by the pedestrian bridge and we'll be watching to make sure the rest gets done.
