Syracuse journalist, writer, and storyteller, Sean Kirst will share stories from his best-selling book "The Soul of CNY". The book features a collection of columns by Kirst spanning almost a quarter-century featuring heartfelt stories about the people of Syracuse. "The Soul of CNY" was the fastest-selling book in the almost-80-year history of the Syracuse University Press upon its release in 2016.

Kirst spent nearly 25 years as a columnist for the Syracuse Post-Standard, is a winner of the Ernie Pyle Award for human interest writing and is a recipient of the Onondaga Historical Association medal, the OHA’s highest award for preserving and interpreting local heritage.

He is currently a journalist-in-residence at Le Moyne College and a writer for Central Current, a nonprofit, nonpartisan newspaper for people building a life in Central New York.

Clay Historical Association’s Open House on Sunday, Oct 19th from 1-3pm at Clay Historical Park, 4939 NY 31, Clay. All buildings will be open and manned by volunteers: Cigarville Train Station, replica log cabin, Sellen-Weller barn, and Visitor Center. The buildings feature exhibits, artifacts, photographs, documents, and other memorabilia that have been donated by Town of Clay families.
