As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us take a moment to remember its true meaning.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness helped protect the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy every day.

Memorial Day is a reminder to never take those sacrifices for granted and to carry forward the legacy of those who gave everything for our nation. We honor them not only in remembrance, but in the way we support our communities, our families, and one another.

Congratulations to our 5th-year apprentices who have successfully completed our IBEW Local 43’s apprenticeship program! Thanks to our collaboration with Mohawk Valley Community College, they've also earned an Associate of Occupational Studies in Electrical Service Technician/Electrical Maintenance. They proudly walked the stage at Memorial Auditorium in Utica to receive their well-deserved diplomas.

On behalf of IBEW Local 43, thank you to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for visiting our training center, touring our facility, and addressing our new apprentices. Her engagement means a great deal to our members and the future of our workforce.

We also appreciate her strong support of the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which helps ensure workers can secure a first contract in a timely manner.

We look forward to continuing to work together to strengthen the middle class across our region.
