Foothills Active Day Center provides compassionate, comprehensive health, social, supportive, and therapeutic services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a welcoming, community-based setting. We are a licensed medical care facility through the Office of the Inspector General and Medicaid. Our experienced professionals and nurturing environment ensure the safety, social

engagement, and activity of your loved ones, promoting the highest quality of life while addressing individual needs. Additionally, we are dedicated to actively enhancing the well-being of our community. Each day is filled with socialization, therapy, recreation, and relaxation, making it a place where clients enjoy returning daily. Our center features an activity room, a game and TV room, a quiet room, a medical room, a salon and barbershop, a laundry room and shower, and an outdoor courtyard area. We enhance lives by providing personalized support for independence and dignity. Our services include supervised crafts, gardening, parties, and field trips, along with activities for dementia patients, such as music therapy. We ensure a safe environment for receiving health services, with skilled nurses and licensed practical nurses offering personal care assistance and safely administering medication for health management. We also provide nutritious meals, including home-delivered options, and attendant care that preserves individual dignity. Our support reduces caregiving stress, increases socialization, decreases symptoms of depression, and offers essential respite for caregivers.

Yesterday, we enjoyed a trip to the Newport Aquarium 🐠🪼and had a wonderful lunch there at Sharky’s Cafe. Their most favorite part was going on a virtual reality under water shark dive 🦈

Everyone enjoyed seeing their crafts displayed, making caramel apples, riding rides and making new friends!

We would like to thank the Powell County Lions Club for making this possible for us for the third year, the Powell County Extension office for allowing our clients to participate in the craft show, they always meet us up there on our fair day and hand out ribbons and prize money to them so they have money to spend and the Kiwanis Club of Powell County for purchasing a bag of cotton candy for each of our clients. All this happiness is truly because of you all! So thank you all so much! We’re already counting down the days until next year!!
