We’re thrilled to grant $75,000 to The Arts & Cultural Authority of Claxton-Evans County!

This Preservation & Facilities grant will support completing new ADA access for the building entrance as well as internal ADA access to the second-floor balcony. These projects are just two of the numerous steps to transforming the historic school building into the Jack & Muriel Strickland Arts & Cultural Center.

This latest grant brings our total grant funding for the Arts & Cultural Authority of Claxton County to more than $200,000! We’re so proud to support the restoration of this one-of-a-kind building and help bring this cherished community space back to life for future generations to enjoy.

Georgia Power presented $25,000 to the Arts & Cultural Authority this afternoon to assist in the restoration project of the original Claxton High School which will be the Arts and Cultural Center for our community. This is the second donation Georgia Power has presented making their total contribution $35,000. Joel Hanner, Area Manager for Georgia Power made the presentation. If you would like to contribute to the project you can send your donation to the Arts and Cultural Authority at PO Box 1, Claxton, GA. 30417.

All good things come to an end. It has been a pleasure to have Estrella Salas as our summer intern with the Arts and Cultural Authority. She has been a joy to have here and she has done great things for our social media. She will be missed, but we wish her well as she returns to Pomona College in Claremont, CA to continue her studies. Thanks Star for all you have done this summer and know you will always be our family.
