Hi Everyone,

The next scheduled meeting for the Garden Club is this Friday, January 9th @ 11am (Fultano's Pizza, Clatskanie). This month will only be a social gathering. Celebrating the start of a new year and sharing seeds for the next growing season.

Wednesday's meeting (January 5th) at the Clatskanie Library is cancelled.

Wednesday, November 12th @ 5:30pm - Clatskanie Library (11 Lillich Street, Clatskanie OR 97016) Brown Bag Lunch/Dinner

And

Friday, November 14th @ 11am - Clatskanie Castle (620 SW Tichenor St, Clatskanie, OR 97016). We will have a short meeting, tour of the castle and lunch in the senior center . If you plan on having lunch at the senior center please let us know (this would be helpful for the kitchen staff).

The St. Helens Public Library and Oregon State University Extension Service Master Gardeners are partnering to create a seed library, promoting sustainable gardening, self-sufficiency, and community through the sharing of heirloom and local seeds.

The library is being built from donated commercial seeds, with ongoing contributions welcomed from gardeners after each planting season. Future plans include seed exchanges, workshops, and hands-on learning opportunities focused on seed saving, plant life cycles, and preserving genetic diversity.

Seed donations are now being accepted at the library with a donation form, and the seed library will be ready for community use in early March 2025.
