August is National Breastfeeding Month, a time to recognize the importance of breastfeeding support and ensure families know they don’t have to navigate their feeding journey alone.

BACH offers comprehensive lactation support before and after your baby’s arrival. Our Women’s Health Services team includes two International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs):

• Inpatient lactation support during your hospital stay
• Outpatient lactation consultations (self-referral)
• In-person and telehealth appointments
• Breastfeeding education and support classes

Our Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby nursing teams also provide breastfeeding guidance and support throughout your hospital stay.

Did you know military families may qualify for WIC benefits?

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides free nutritional support, feeding assistance, and educational resources for eligible military families. The M-WIST screening tool offers quick, confidential screening and guidance on next steps.

WIC support may include:
• Healthy foods and nutrition support
• Formula and baby food assistance
• Breastfeeding and lactation support
• Nutrition counseling and meal planning
• Child development education resources

Eligibility information:
• Pregnancy enrollment begins once pregnancy is medically confirmed
• Support can continue up to 6 months postpartum if formula feeding, or up to 12 months postpartum if breastfeeding
• Children may be enrolled from birth until age 5

For military families, some income considerations may differ:
• BAH and combat deployment-related pay are not included in income calculations

WIC is available in all 50 states, U.S. territories, and overseas duty assignments through the WIC Overseas Program.

If you or someone you know is in the Montgomery County TN or Ft. Campbell KY areas, and in need of a safe sleep space or sleep sack for baby, hop over and fill out the application. We’re here to support you, cheer for you, and make safe sleep simple. Don't forget to register for the Safe Sleep Workshop coming up next Friday!!

Guys we are so excited to share that registration for our annual WAVE OF LIGHT ceremony opens tomorrow!

This is going to be a cozy, glowing evening filled with love, connection, and candlelight as we honor precious babies gone too soon.

This year’s gathering will be extra special, and space is limited, so be sure to grab your spot as soon as registration goes live tomorrow!

After you register, don’t forget to reply to your confirmation email with your baby’s name, we’ll be honoring each little one personally during the ceremony, and we want to make sure your sweet baby is included in our circle of light.
