Replant Clarksville had our first volunteer assisted tree planting on Saturday December 13. 35 volunteers braved the cold to plant 50 trees in Civitan Park. Replant Clarksville planned the tree types and locations, provided the trees and organized the event. Montgomery County Parks and Recreation staff assisted with the planning and planting. Morgan Contracting donated a crew and equipment to auger the holes for the trees. This is a classic example of different groups coming together to improve quality of life for the whole community. This great group of citizens planted the following 1 inch caliper trees: 12 Shumard Oaks, 9 Redbuds, 8 Dogwoods, 7 White Pines, 5 Bald Cypress, 4 Tulip Poplars, and 3 October Glory Maples.

Replant Clarksville sub-contractors are currently planting 305 more mature 2 inch caliper at 6 different schools campuses over the next two weeks.

JoAnn McIntosh heads up the Volunteer Coordination team for Replant Clarksville. Wes Powell heads up our Planning and Planting Team. They really made the event happen. If you want to get comments from either of them, they are copied in this email. The second picture is Sally Read from Parks & Rec, Wes Powell and JoAnn McIntosh.
