“KATS WATCH PARTY” SET SATURDAY AT SKYLINE 500 BAR IN DOWNTOWN CLARKSVILLE

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – When the Nashville Kats hit the road Saturday afternoon to face the Michigan Arsenal, they will have Kats fans back home cheering them on.

In conjunction with Michael Waltrip Brewing, the “Kats Watch Party” will be held at Skyline 500 Bar – part of Shelby’s Trio in downtown Clarksville across from the main entrance to F&M Bank Arena, home of the Kats.

Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. with free admission, giveaways, door prizes and surprise guests.

“We are excited at Skyline 500 Bar and Shelby’s Trio to host our first of many Kats Watch Parties,” Shelby’s Trio general manager Amanda Styles said. “We plan to throw a big party with giveaways and door prizes and, of course, cheer the Kats to victory.”

Michael Waltrip, through Waltrip Brands and Michael Waltrip Brewing, has officially joined the ownership group of the Nashville Kats, expanding the company’s footprint across sports, entertainment and fan engagement.

Skyline 500 Bar and Joe’s Garage at Shelby’s Trio are signature venues for Michael Waltrip Brewing.

Coming off a bye week, the Kats sit at 5-1 and are all alone in second place behind the league-leading Albany Firebirds (7-0). The Arsenal are 2-5.

The Kats and Arsenal squared off previously at F&M Bank Arena in downtown Clarksville on Friday, April 17 with the Kats posting a 78-40 victory.

“Having Michael Waltrip Brewing be part of the Kats Watch Party is great,” Kats Chief Executive Officer & Partner Greg Pogue said. “Skyline 500 Bar at Shelby’s Trio is an amazing venue with an amazing view. This is yet another way for the Kats to connect with Clarksville and Montgomery County and the surrounding area that have supported us so well this season.”

Following Saturday’s road game at Michigan, the Kats have three straight home games on consecutive Saturdays – June 13 vs. the Minnesota Monsters, June 20 vs. the Albany Firebirds and June 27 vs. the Beaumont Renegades. All three games kick off at 4 p.m. Strawberry Alley is located at 103 Strawberry Alley in downtown Clarksville.

Clarksville has lost another pillar in the community.

Col. (Ret.) Tom Denney passed away this week. He had a decorated 30+ year military career in aviation, including serving as Garrison Commander at Fort Campbell.

After retiring from the military, he and his wife Sandra stayed in the Clarksville community and he went on to a career in the automotive industry and real estate.

We interviewed a former colleague, Mark Holleman, who says Denney will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, leadership and for always being an incredible ambassador for Fort Campbell in the Clarksville community.

I was also proud to know Col. Denney. He never fully forgave me for not attending his beloved Auburn University, but he was such a kind man and told the best jokes.
