💚 The CMC Education Foundation is proud to invest in the future of our students by awarding four, $2,500 scholarships to children of CMCSS employees each year!

Congratulations to this year’s recipients:
🎓 Kalyn Freeney - Northeast High School (April Freeney)
🎓 Jehryeia Morris - Kenwood High School (Tameka Morris)
🎓 Payton Chavis - Rossview High School (Wil Chavis)
🎓 Madilynn Hill - Montgomery Central High School (Keri Hill)

✨ These scholarships recognize students for their hard work, dedication, leadership, and commitment to academic success. We are honored to support these outstanding students as they begin the next chapter of their journey. This year, the Foundation had a record number of scholarship applicants. The applications and essays are each blindly evaluated, scored, and voted on by the CMC Education Foundation Board in order to remain neutral in the selection.

🎉 Congratulations to all of this year’s scholarship recipients. Your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all you accomplish!

The Education Foundation applied for a Nashville Predators Foundation grant to help support West Creek Elementary’s purchase of a Lü interactive playground! Of the 400+ applications this year, 199 across Middle Tennessee were selected to receive grant dollars.

Lü transforms any space into an interactive environment, where movement becomes an immersive experience. Designed for youth, it encourages kids to explore, play, and interact in new ways, combining fun, movement, and technology.

Through an annual grant cycle, the Nashville Predators Foundation gives out hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities for projects and programs benefiting youth and their families in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. In 2026, the foundation distributed a record-breaking $855,642 to 199 charitable organizations.

💚 Did you know that the Education Foundation partners with the CMCSS Transportation Department to provide some great prizes for our students demonstrating positive behavior?

🙌 Each semester, the Foundation provides incentives ranging from gaming systems to Beats headphones, AirPods, Nike backpacks, and gift cards to help encourage students to make positive choices on their buses. The data shows that there has been a notable increase in positive behavior referrals on the buses since we helped implement the program in early 2025!
