Team DRIVE began when the founder, Rich Gatewood noticed that combat wounded service members were constantly being informed on the pillars of health; physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual. Something was missing, however. Just as pillars used in ancient buildings, the structure will fall if not stabilized by the quality of the roof. At the time of being wounded, these veterans were ser
ving; but tragedy struck in a flash. In that same flash, what was taken away was their role as a public servant. In one Soldier’s words, he went from hero to zero. He was even labeled "unfit for service." There were plenty of others going through the same emotions, and after much contemplation, he started approaching others about his thought process. What he and others like him realized what was missing: service to others. Lions don't like to be caged- so they set forth to form Team DRIVE, freeing the lions to serve their communities and thus return them to what they once proudly were.
