Tennessee SAR Valentine Sevier Tennessee SAR Valentine Sevier Chapter The SAR is a "lineage" society.

"The SAR is a historical, educational, and patriotic non-profit, United States 501(c)3, corporation that seeks to maintain and extend
* the institutions of American freedom
* an appreciation for true patriotism
* a respect for our national symbols
* the value of American citizenship
* the unifying force of e pluribus unum that has created, from the people of many nations, one nation and one people

. We do this by perpetuating the stories of patriotism, courage, sacrifice, tragedy, and triumph of the men who achieved the independence of the American people in the belief that these stories are universal ones of man's eternal struggle against tyranny, relevant to all time, and will inspire and strengthen each succeeding generation as it too is called upon to defend our freedoms on the battlefield and in our public institutions." This means that each member has traced his family tree back to a point of having an ancestor who supported the cause of American Independence during the years 1774-1783. This Facebook group is not an official group sponsored by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (“NSSAR”), or any affiliated entity. Compatriots who are members of the NSSAR who do use this group are expected to abide by the ethical rules of the Society, and postings not in keeping with the mission, purposes and goals of the Society may be removed by the administrator.

The next meeting of the Valentine Sevier chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be:

The June meeting of the Valentine Sevier chapter is Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Golden Corral.

The meeting will start at 6:00 PM, but members will begin gathering around 5:15 to get food from the buffet.

Location: Golden Corral Buffett and Grill, 2811 Wilma Rudolph Blvd, Clarksville, TN 37040

• As discussed in the February meeting, the cost for dinner will be going up to $20. Members are encouraged to leave more on the table for the tip.

• The Chapter Treasurer (Bill Zarella) will pay the restaurant based on the headcount at the meeting with a single check from the chapter treasury.

• Each member will provide either cash or a check to Bill Zarella to cover the cost of their meal. IMPORTANT: The chapter does not have the ability to accept payment via credit/debit card.

• The chapter pays at the time of our meeting, so members are asked to provide payment to the chapter (cash or check) at the time of the meeting.

The Captain William Edmiston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Valentine Sevier Chapter Sons of the American Revolution present our Independence Day Celebration!

It's almost that time again! Save the date for July 4th, 2023! We will be on the 5th Street side of the Montgomery County Courthouse ready to start reading at 9am. We have something new this year....the Cumberland Winds are going to play patriotic music for us before, during and afterwards! We thank them for taking part and adding so much to our event.
We will have the Colors presented by the Valentine Sevier Sons of the American Revolution , the usual reading of the Declaration of Independence, the black powder volleys, and ending with the cannon volleys.

APRIL 2023 CHAPTER MEETING

The April meeting of the Valentine Sevier chapter is Thursday, April 6th, 2023 at the Golden Corral.

Please look at the TN SAR Website for the notice about the March 24th and 25th State Meeting in Athens, Tennessee. Everyone, even those just attending the meeting must register. Registration will open later. But the "SAVE THE DATE" message is on the website. If you are attending the meeting, the cost is only $30.00 dollars.
