Opening night is finally here and we are thrilled to present this production of GODSPELL to you this weekend and next. Get your tickets now if you haven't already.

You've met our cast - now meet part of our production team: Zachary Zahand (Director), Josh Glasscock (Music Director), and Dawn Tuck (Stage Manager).

Zachary is excited to return to his home theatre with the Clarksville Community Players. Zachary currently works as the Theatre teacher at the local middle and high school. Selected directing credits include: Puffs, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Once On This Island. Selected performing credits include: Quasimodo (Hunchback of Notre Dame), Beadle Bamford (Sweeney Todd), and Patrick Star (Spongebob: the Musical).

Godspell marks Josh’s 15th show as MD and he is so proud of this cast! Previous MD credits include Once on This Island, Little Shop of Horrors, and Bright Star (the latter being his favorite!).

Dawn is thrilled to be stage managing her fifth show with CCP. She made her on-stage debut as Bar Patron #14 in (Bright Star), where she had the unforgettable experience of performing alongside the infamous Curtis Glasscock. With a passion for the theatre that continues to grow, she is committed to supporting the creative process behind the scenes. In addition to her stage management work, she enjoys collaborating with fellow artists and discovering new ways to enhance the production experience.

Opening night is tomorrow and we hope you have your tickets!!!
Our final Meet the Cast post features three actors who play our Jesus, Judas, and John the Baptist.

Elijah Logue (Jesus) is thrilled to be on the Clarksville stage for the fifth time! Interestingly, this will be the third time he has performed this role (2017 and 2023). He has been in countless community and professional theatre productions for the last 10 years. Most notable musical credits include: Donkey (Shrek: The Musical), Tunny (American Idiot), Horton (Seussical The Musical), Perchik (Fiddler on the Roof), and Orin (Little Shop of Horrors). Elijah is an actor by night, Corrections Lieutenant by day and a Director on occasion. He recently directed a sold out run of the modern musical Alice by Heart at Waterworks Players.

Jason B. Badeaux (Judas) has been jumping stages with his amazing and talented contemporaries in shows such as Little Shop of Horrors, Jack and Jill: a Troll’s Story, and Alice by Heart. Jason used what he learned from these shows in his performance as Harold Hill (The Music Man). With that being said, special shoutouts to the people who were a part of those shows and to GODSPELL's amazing production team!

Declan Kelly (John the Baptist) is very excited to be in his fourth show directed by Zachary Nathaniel and his second show at the Fine Arts Center! He spends most of his time talking to his friends, playing drums, or listening to music – sometimes all at once. Some previous roles of his include Charlie Brown (You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown), Cedric (Puffs), and Lord Leonard Aster (Peter and the Starcatcher). Something he has not done is a backflip. Please do not ask him to do a backflip. It would not end well.

Opening night of GODSPELL is just two days away, but we still have some more cast members to introduce to you - Sarah Varela, Sarah Wheeler, and Ellie Wiles.

Sarah V. is excited to be taking part in her first show at CCP under the direction of her amazing former student, Zachary Zahand. This is her second time performing in Godspell. Some favorite previous roles include Maggie (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Rachael (Appropriate), Mindy (Five Women Wearing the Same Dress), and Sarah/Sadie Mae (Adrift in New York), all with Waterworks Players in Farmville. She made her directorial debut last spring with John Logan's Red. At the encouragement of her terrific husband, Erik (her biggest cheerleader), Sarah ventured from her usual spot as a pit musician to finally getting onstage. By day, she's a German professor at Longwood University and enjoys knitting, board games, and serenading her cats.

Sarah W. would like to thank her cast for being so great. She is indebted to Mark Hopper for helping her become the performer that she is and helping her get to where she is today. Sarah is so grateful to this production’s director and music director for showing her the support she needed during this rehearsal process.

Ellie is joining us again after being in Little Shop of Horrors last fall at CCP. She has done multiple CTW shows here as well as numerous school shows at MCPS.

Our next group of cast members for GODSPELL includes Cherie B. Madison, Aidan McClure, and Kaitlyn Tant who drives all the way from Kittrell, North Carolina.

Cherie is absolutely thrilled to be back on stage again after over 25 years! Throughout childhood, her roles include Orphan (Annie) in Chase City, Ensemble (Oliver!, Carousel, & Oklahoma!) with CCP, numerous Children’s Theatre Workshop productions, as well as Lysander (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Jan (Grease) while in high school at Chatham Hall. Cherie is the Director of Business Operations for the outpatient clinics at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. Cherie’s children, Natalie (age 16) and Alexander (age 10), are her everything and her favorite pastime involves watching them play softball, baseball, and basketball. Cherie also enjoys singing, eating Mexican food, listening to music (especially live at concerts), and spending time at the pool and on the lake with family and friends.

Aidan, also known as Big Dog, has played multiple roles in CCP productions. Not only was he the Fiddler not on a Roof (Fiddler on the Roof), but he also starred as Seymour “Krelbit” Krelborn (Little Shop of Horrors). Aidan is excited to work with the entire cast of this production. He would like to thank Joe Perdue for getting him into theatre and this production’s director and music director for always having his back.

Kaitlyn is performing in her first show with CCP and is super excited to experience the direction of Zachary and Josh. She is a teacher at The Childcare Network and does other theatre at McGregor Hall in North Carolina. She is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and an avid lover of musical theatre. She has been in the ensemble of several shows including Rent, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Ragtime, and Big Fish, all at McGregor.

Rounding out the first half of our cast for GODSPELL today is Eva Hopper, Kolby Logue, and Raine Jancart.

Eva is a ninth grader who has been at home on stage since before she could walk. Eva’s credits include Monteen (Parade, NRACT) and Elsa (Frozen Jr., Theater Raleigh ACT). Her home is McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center, with favorite roles including Carolyn (Bridges of Madison County), Lucy (A Charlie Brown Christmas), Young Fiona (Shrek), Horton (Seussical Jr.), and ensemble roles in Ragtime, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Sweeney Todd.

Kolby is thrilled to be joining the cast of Godspell! Recent credits include Alice (Alice by Heart), Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors), Ensemble (Sweeney Todd), Margo (Bright Star), Wednesday (The Addams Family), Hodel (Fiddler on the Roof), and many more with companies throughout the region. When she's not on stage, Kolby can be found crafting feature films for Kemistry Motion Pictures, the production company she co-owns with her husband.

This is Raine’s third show with the CCP, her previous roles being Bielke (Fiddler on the Roof) and Ensemble (Little Shop of Horrors). She is very grateful to her director for giving her an opportunity to grow in her acting skills, and to her music director for helping her learn to sing in the right octave amidst a large choir. Raine is a homeschooled junior, and she loves spending time outdoors, reading, and playing sports. She has three sisters and an awesome mom and dad who all support her in her acting journey, for which she is eternally grateful.
