Today, October 7th we honor and remember Lieutenant Colonel Michael C. Grimm for his remarkable service.

He volunteered for service in the U.S. Army at age 19. He was sent to Vietnam where he firmly established his unquestionable courage and dedication to duty. LTC Grimm went to flight school, and was sent back to Vietnam in May 1971 as a pilot with C Troop, 2/17 CAV. In August 1979, LTC Grimm arrived at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he was assigned to the 229th Attack Helicopter Battalion. As a Founding Night Stalker, he was selected to organize and command the "Little Birds" which were tasked to fill a very special aviation mission.

Awards/Medals
LTC Michael C. Grimm was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device, Purple Heart, Air Medal, and was an Army Aviation Hall of Fame Inductee.

Today we would like to honor Chief Warrant Officer Three William “Bill” H. Tuttle and his extensive military career.
CW3 Tuttle's 15-year U.S. Army career spanned infantry search-and-rescue combat in Vietnam, flight instruction at West Point, and international pilot assignments across South Korea, Panama, and the United States. Before joining the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment as a UH-60 Black Hawk pilot, he flew UH-1 Hueys for the 82nd Airborne Division and conduct border patrol and high-altitude training missions throughout Central and South America.

Awards/Medals:
CW3 Tuttle’s awards and decorations include the Silver Star, Bronze Star Medal w/”V” Device (1 OLC), and the Purple Heart (1 OLC). He was posthumously awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.

October 3–4, 1993: The Battle of Mogadishu.
What was planned as a swift raid turned into 15 hours of fierce combat when two Black Hawks were downed in the heart of the city. Elite aircrews from the 160th SOAR (Night Stalkers) insertion team flew into heavy enemy fire to defend trapped ground forces and support the rescue effort.
Today, we honor the 18 American soldiers, including five Night Stalkers, who made the ultimate sacrifice that day, and the bravery of all who fought.

Today we are honoring SSG Cleveland. Always there to help others whenever asked. If someone could not make a flight, he was there. He served with the Ho**er Brothers as a Crew Chief for nearly six years, deploying on numerous missions, such as Operations PRIME CHANCE, JUST CAUSE, and GOTHIC SERPENT. He was a faithful husband, loving father, devoted son, true friend, fearless warrior, and a proud Night Stalker.

Today we remember SSG Field and his love for things mechanical and the need to work with his hands which lead him to become a Black Hawk Crew Chief. His creativity, initiative and passion for life made him an exceptional person and enabled him to excel. His selfless service and love for his country were undeniably first and foremost in his heart.

Today we want to honor CW4 Frank and his dedication. He volunteered for service in the U.S. Army at the age of 17 when he enlisted in 1966. Additionally he was also a pilot, artist, musician, teacher and innovator. He was one of the first pilots to become an instructor in air-to-air tactics and his contributions in the development of future Comanche ACM capabilities continue to shape both hardware and doctrine. He was inducted into the Army Aviation Hall of Fame in 1995, thus recognizing his skill and enthusiasm as a pilot and his indomitable spirit as a patriot.

Today we honor CW4 Wolcott and his heroic actions as the Flight Lead Pilot of an assault into a highly contested urban objective in Mogadishu, Somalia, on 3 October 1993 in Operation GOTHIC SERPENT.
He was a well-liked, outgoing outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snow skiing. When not on duty, he spent most of his time with his family and served as the coach of his son's soccer team.

Today we honor the memory of our beloved CW3 Briley. A Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star and Air Medal recipient.

He is remembered for his service in the Ma*****na Detection Mission (1885), Service in South Korea, Operation JUST CAUSE (1989), and Operation GOTHIC SERPENT (1993) and his never changing dedication to the 160th Special Operation Aviation Regiment (Airborne).

We remember them. We honor them. We will never forget them.
