Clarksville All Stars Track and Field Club

Clarksville All Stars Track and Field Club The purpose of the Clarksville All-Stars is to motivate our athletes and inspire them to achieve
leadership, discipline, integrity, and team building. a.

This organization is open to both male and female ages 8-18. The program is designed to meet
the needs of all participants regardless of their performance level. The individual who makes the
attempt is as much a part of the group as he or she who may attain the highest level of
achievement. No one rides the bench; however maximum effort and hard work will be
expected at all times. We can say MAXIM

UM EFFORT- looks like readiness, respect, unity,
and team support. We define TEAM SUPPORT and UNITY as - All athletes, parents,
and coaching staff supporting and cheering on all athletes.
 We require all athletes to stay for the entire track meet. TRAINING PROGRAM:
Practice sessions are conducted by the coaching staff at various locations. All athletes are
required to attend their scheduled training activities. Due to the various work schedules of the
coaching staff, all practice time will need to be maximized to the fullest. (No horse playing and
attitudes will be tolerated)
Coaches (Volunteer Positions)
1. Safety is top priority.
2. Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times. Registration Packet
3
3. Have and show respect for your opponent; treat them as guests.
4. Accept the officials’ decisions.
5. Set a good example for others to follow.
6. Refrain from any profanity, as it is not an acceptable part of the game for either you or
this team.
7. Maintain self-control at all times.
8. Remain teachable and moldable. o Teach the values of honest effort in conforming to the spirit as well as the letter
of the rules
9. Be mindful of comments made to the public. Head Coach
 Will designate authorized personnel in the beginning of the season for Chaperones,
Parent Volunteer at away track meets and Volunteer Coaches.
 There will be before and after practice huddles for all coaching volunteers and
authorized admin staff. Athletes
1. Treat teammates, opponents, officials, and coaches with respect.
 First offense - is a Verbal Warning.
 Second offense - some form of extra practice or an extra assignment that you must
read to the team.
 Third offense - you will not be able to complete in the track meet.
 Fourth offense - you will be dismissed from the team.
2. Win with pride and lose without excuses.
3. NO cell phone use or media devices during practice or inside the warm-up area at or/during
meets.
4. NO horse playing
5. Every athlete will show up ready for practice, and in the right uniform for all track practices
and meets.
6. Arguing with coaches will not be tolerated and athletes may be dismissed from the team. There is a big difference between expressing your opinion and arguing – flat
out disrespect.
7. Support each member of the team during his/her respective events.
8. Friends are not to accompany you on the track nor be under the team tent with you at track meets. Parents
1. Be positive role models during practice and at meets.
2. Understand and respect the different roles of parents, coaches, and officials.
 Be supportive of the coach.
 Do not coach from the sidelines.
 Realize that as the coach he/she is an educator and therefore understands the sport
he/she is coaching and the proper behavior for that sport.
 Be respectful of the officials’ decisions.
3. Communicate with the coach and create a positive supportive working relationship. Before, during, or after a practice or meet, it would be greatly appreciated that if
an injury or concern of an injury occurred that the coach would be made aware
before a decision is given to the child.
4. Remember the primary value of athletic participation is to provide our youth with an
opportunity for self-development: spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally.
5. If a parent conference is desired with the coach, it is highly inappropriate to speak with
the coach regarding a (non-critical) matter at the conclusion of an athletic event. If
possible, wait until the next day and call for an appointment with the coach.
6. If a parent has any concerns during the season, please email
[email protected] responses will be handled within 24 hours.
7. Parents are welcome to observe practice from the sidelines.
8. When a parent sends their unaccompanied minor to an event you surrender your right to
parent by phone.
9. Unaccompanied minors (small siblings/friends) accompanying the team must be with a
predetermined parental supervisor to alleviate distractions to the athlete and safety of the
child(ren). Attendance
1. Attendance to all practices is mandatory.
 Practice will be from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
 So, we can start on time and end on time as a team
 Tardiness will be a punishable offense (extra laps, or push-ups, etc.) o A coach will be designated to stay to allow athlete to complete required extra
workout.
 Excessive tardiness can result in not competing in the next meet.
2. Practices at the track are mandatory. Even if you will not compete in that weekend’s meet it
still counts as attendance, and failure to show up for one day of the practice/meet will be an
unexcused absence.
 Athletes are sick and the coach or admin staff is aware of this.
 Athletes/ Parents have contacted Head coach or admin staff by 2:30 p.m. if you
are going to miss practice for that day.
 Work schedule conflict. (with notification of such)
3. Only 5 unexcused absences are allowed for the season. No call, no shows
b. Not feeling like practicing is an unexcused absence. COMPETITION SCHEDULE:

out of state travel involved. Team Travel
