We had a wonderful end of the year Christmas party to celebrate our members and their significant others! I can’t thank everyone enough who helped put it together! When I took over the Union I was completly clueless of what it would look like but every day events and ideas come to mind of how I want to help our members and officers within the department. So here’s a few we are working towards for next year to reach out to our community as well as our members.

February- Valentines with Veterans.
April- Dispatcher week celebration (12-18)
May-City wide invitation to a Mother’s Day brunch
May- police week (may 10-16)
June - City wide invitation to a Daddy dance night
August- Back to school BBQ
October- Fall festival
November- Shop with a Cop

Other events in the works-
•Golf scramble
• First Responders weightlifting competition (All first responders invited for participation in the Montgomey county area)
• adopting a high school every semester to assist boosters with high school sports. (Helping feed the team for home games/ showing up when needed)

A huge thank you to all those who came out and spent their Saturday morning volunteering to make Shop with a Cop 2025 a success. Thank you to Clarksville-Montgomery County School System who helped organize the children and all the Law Enforcement who volunteered their time, Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee Austin Peay State University Police Department, the civilian volunteers from Fraternal Order of Police Two Rivers Lodge 23, Clarksville-Montgomery County Crime Stoppers,dispatchers, and family members of officers. A huge thank you to Wendy's who donated breakfast to the children and Mission BBQ who dated lunch. To Walmart who let us take up their floors on a busy Saturday morning! AND FINALLY to all of you who donated, without your contribution this wouldn't have been possible; from businesses, citizens within the community, Attorneys and Judges within the county, we truly thank each and every one of you who helped put beautiful smiles on every child that was apart of our event this year!

As the holidays begin to approach and things get busy, we want to thank everyone who has and will continue to donate to our event “Shop with a Cop”! We are so thankful for all the love and support you continue to show us and the community everyday! We look forward to our event this year as we have a few new and exciting additions to the day for the children! Keep watch for photos to come to see the smiling children and families!

Join us on this Saturday at 9 AM at Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center for the First Responder Basketball Tournament!

Come watch 6 teams compete: Clarksville Police Department, Clarksville Fire Rescue, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee, Montgomery County EMS, Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville and Hilldale Baptist Church.

Entry is just $5; kids 10 and under are free. Concessions will be available, so come hungry and ready to enjoy a variety of delicious treats!

Plus, we're celebrating champions with awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! And that's not all - shoutout to the team that brings the most fans with our Spirit Award! Show your team spirit and cheer your team on to victory! Thank you to Montgomery County First Responders Association and Clarksville Police Union #18 for helping sponsor this event! All proceeds will go to the Montgomery County First Responders Association.

Come show your support and enjoy a day of exciting basketball!

A few updates I would like to put out.

• It was voted months ago to extend the Union memberships to Retirees with a yearly due. If you are a retiree who wishes to continue your membership, please send an email to [email protected] with your information.

•Starting October 1 a quarterly newsletter will be emailed to members/retirees who are on the email roster. (If you don’t currently recieve emails and would like to stay updated, please email [email protected] with your information and we can make that happen)

• July 26th is our first ever Summer BBQ- if you haven’t gotten tickets please email the union that you would like to attend and we will get you all the information you need to attend.

• Planning for the yearly Christmas party has began and we would love all of your feedback for catering/gifts/DJ/etc. more will be put out in the October newsletter.

• Shop with a cop will creep up on us before we know it and we are so excited to see the smiles on all the children’s faces! If you or someone you know would like to donate to shop with a cop, please have them reach out to us by email and we can discuss options.

• As always we are constantly encouraging you to send us all of your ideas for new events and ways to engage with the community as well as you as members!
