Meet Ramon, one of our foundation children. Please join us in lifting up this sweet boy in prayer as he undergoes a surgery today to replace his port. Be praying for precision and wisdom for his surgeons and peace for Ramon, as he is very nervous about having to get an IV.

Also, please continue to pray in the weeks and months to come for strength and comfort for him and his family and for his complete healing in Jesus name! Thank you for for supporting this foundation so that we can continue to help families like Ramon's!

Flashback
Two of the most challenging aspects if pediatric cancer (specifically the effects of chemotherapy) are hairloss and appetite loss (or change in taste).
This picture captures both. Ramon struggled with his hair loss, which actually happened twice in one year. It's a difficult process for adults, much less children. He enjoyed hats and beanies from friends and family. We rarely ever saw his bald head 🥰
He tried a new flavor of ice cream in this picture. Took one tiny bite and then passed it to me.
The pendulum swings from refusing to eat to only eating one specific food for days...and sometimes the kids have excruciating mouth sores that make it impossible to eat, even when the want to.
Fortunately for us, we have found a few foods that he enjoys which we can cook at home. He still struggles with daily stomach pain, but we are managing it without medication (most of the time) or hospitalization. Thankful for any improvement...

Usually, at the end of each September, which is childhood cancer awareness month, we host our main annual fundraising event, Dancing Til' Dawn. The COVID pandemic has presented all of us with challenges we never imagined were coming, and we unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to cancel the event this year out of an abundance of caution.

However, we are taking this opportunity to make an even bigger impact through our giving campaign, SHARE DAWN'S LIGHT!

Since COVID has impacted our ability to host our annual fundraising event two consecutive years, funds are desperately needed to allow the Dawn Stanfill Foundation to continue our mission; to provide aide to local families battling childhood cancer. It is only with your help and through your generosity that we will be able to continue supporting these families. We never want to have to turn down a families request for aide, so please consider partnering with us by becoming a monthly supporter or making a one time donation.

If you have a child or grandchild that has battled cancer and will graduate this spring there are thousands of dollars available in a scholarship money through the Catie Summers Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is sponsored by Catie's family to honor her memory and her love for learning.

Applicants must be a graduating senior in Middle Tennessee, with preference given for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, who have survived cancer at some point in their lives and who have either a GPA of 3.0 or a score of 21 or better on the ACT. Verification of cancer diagnosis and/or treatment will be required. The deadline to apply is March 15th.

There are only a few hours left in 2020, and though time is ticking, you can still take advantage of a new tax provision under the CARES Act that allows individual taxpayers to claim an "above-the-line" deduction of up to $300 for monetary charitable donations made this year! This Christmas, our GENEROUS friends at have partnered with our foundation and donated Christmas presents to two local families fighting pediatric cancer. Not only did they provide gifts for all of the children, they also purchased presents for the adults in those families as well!  Due to the generosity and selflessness of this company, two families have been blessed this Christmas when they needed it more than ever!

All we need for Christmas is a LIFE SAVING match for Evan! Evan is a local 10 year old boy who our foundation has had the privilege of supporting, and he's in need of a bone marrow donor. If you are a healthy 18-35 yr old...YOU COULD BE THE ONE!!! Please check out:

Evan was initially diagnosed with leukemia in January 2017 and completed 3-1/2 years of treatment in May 2020. However, in September he was told that he had relapsed. The leukemia has now spread from his bone marrow to his spinal fluids. He has been undergoing intense chemotherapy and radiation treatment at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, and hopefully he will be able to receive a bone marrow transplant. Foundation Family- we need our prayer warriors right now! Trevor, whom we as a foundation have had had the privilege of supporting, fought and BEAT cancer. He was cancer free until this July when a routine scan showed his cancer had returned. Yesterday, he underwent surgery to remove the cancer and have a resection of his esophagus. We ask you to join us in lifting Trevor, his mother Tina, and his family in prayer as he continues to heal and fight over the weeks to come.

Trevor and Tina, your Dawn Stanfill Foundation Family is rallying around you and praying for you! You beat cancer once, you can do it again!

The immense financial strain that is placed on families when they have a child fighting cancer is unfathomable and oftentimes not realized. The last thing these parents should have to worry about is how they will be able to afford Christmas gifts for their children.
