A few weeks ago a Pride flag was ripped off someone’s home. Hate is either growing in Clarksville or people are getting more comfortable showing it publicly.
What stood out to us though was the response from this community.
After Nova shared what happened, we offered to replace the Pride flag. Almost immediately, people started sending donations to help us pay for it. When we reached back out to let them know the replacement had already been covered, every person said the same thing:
“Then buy one for someone else.”
So that’s what we’re going to do. If people want to spread hate, then we’ll respond by spreading love with more flags. More visibility. More people willing to openly say that not only do they belong here, but who they are and who they love does not change that fact.
Thank you to Nova for speaking up. It was brave, and because of YOU there will be more visibility in Clarksville. 🌈

Clarksville Pride has always belonged to the people who built it.
Everyone who has lived here, shown up, fought for visibility, supported one another, and stood firm in making this community more inclusive, and we thank you. C-Pride exists because of you. From the beginning, the goal was to create something that gives back: building resources, strengthening connection, and investing in the people who call Clarksville home.

We are grateful for the understanding when we had to cancel last year, and even more grateful for the continued belief in what we are building now. Every volunteer, every donation, every voice insisting on inclusion has made this possible.

This year, we are moving forward with two events:

C-Pride Community Resource & Healing Event (June)

A focused, community-centered day built around support, connection, and access to real resources.

Out & Proud Festival (October)

A celebration of visibility, pride, and the strength of our community.

We will continue this work the same way it began, for the community, by the community.

No matter the opinions around us, the right to exist, to gather, and to celebrate who we are remains ours.

Thank you for standing with us.

At the “No Kings” rally here in Clarksville, a group of young men in a red truck fired what appeared to be air rifles into a crowd of participants that included families with children.
Some individuals reported being struck with the hard projectiles, and reports were made to local police.

This attempt at intimidation ment to disrupt the people’s protected freedom of assembly should not be overlooked. Under Tennessee law, this conduct qualifies as aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

The intent of these men is not the standard, and no clarification of intent by the owner of the vehicle or relatives of the participants will be entertained. Statements like “it was just a few young men being young men,” Are insulting to us, considering we work with young people every day who are capable of accountability, who can show disagreement without endangering the vulnerable, and we do not excuse poor behavior as a right of passage.

Our organization relies on documentation over memory and opinion. From now on we will be fully documenting events so that the truth can be proven and the law applied. If that means recording the entire event from multiple angles, that will be the standard. In this way we can gather evidence of crimes against our community without relying on the public for evidence. When the truth of a matter is clear and public, accountability seems to follow.

Law enforcement may or may not wish to pursue certain classifications. A court may or may not agree. But documented evidence speaks for itself, and the court of public opinion is always in session.

If anyone has additional footage, photos, or firsthand statements, please reach out to us via email.

Safety, for everyone, requires quick action.
Thank you all.

For the first bill of the legislative session, the Tennessee State House passed a bill that would restrict the freedoms of businesses that host a drag show. As well as the rights of churches that support LGBTQ+ rights.

Rather than address the economic and healthcare crises that plague our state, our legislature is busy policing peoples’ clothing.

The bill (HB0884) would reclassify these businesses as “adult-oriented establishments,” even if they host just a single performance a year. By using the state term, “adult cabre,” which lumps drag performers and s*x workers into a single group, the bill effectively bans businesses from hosting drag.
In fact, the bill explicitly clarifies these restrictions, stating:

“Prohibition of an adult cabaret from locating within 1,000 feet of a child care facility, a private, public, or charter school, a public park, family recreation center, a residence, or a place of worship.”

Additionally, this bill violates the separation of church and state, since it limits the ability of religious institutions to support drag, and favors conservative over liberal churches.

Our House Representatives’ votes:
• 🔴Michael Lankford - Aye
• 🔴Aaron Maberry - Aye
• 🔵Ronnie Glynn - No

HB0884 passed the State House and has been filed for introduction to the State Senate as SB1424, where it will be voted on in late March. We urge our fellow Clarksvillians to contact their state Senator (Bill Powers; Kerry Roberts) and ask them to vote against this legislation on religious grounds.
Attached is a guide to election deadlines for the 2026 election season.
