"Advocacy effort for a Sustainable Solution to the Rohingya Crisis"
As the Executive Director of the Rohingya Advocacy & Empowerment Forum (RAEF), I had the opportunity to meet with U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia as part of my diplomatic advocacy efforts to highlight the Rohingya crisis and seek a sustainable, long-term solution.
During the meeting, I raised concerns about the lack of adequate and sustained funding and institutional support for Rohingya-led community organizations in Georgia, including RAEF. These organizations play a vital role in supporting Rohingya families, preserving our cultural identity, and addressing educational, employment, and community development needs.
I also emphasized the importance of moving beyond short-term humanitarian assistance toward meaningful, long-term solutions. These must include greater support for Rohingya-led initiatives, expanded opportunities for education and self-reliance, and sustained international diplomatic efforts to ensure the safe, voluntary, dignified, and rights-based repatriation of Rohingya refugees to their homeland, Arakan (Rakhine State), Myanmar, with citizenship, security, and fundamental rights guaranteed.
Our message is clear: the Rohingya people need more than humanitarian assistance—we need dignity, rights, justice, and a sustainable future in our homeland.
