StoryWorks Theater is building its second cohort of Coahoma County residents with a passion for storytelling and a commitment to sharing the history of the Mississippi Delta. Last year’s cohort culminated in a history-rich tour of Coahoma County that was SUCH a powerful learning experience. Everything the Storyworks Theater team does is pure magic — you’d be wise to jump on this if you’re even the least bit intrigued.

The Mississippi Delta Cultural Heritage Ambassadors Program — created in partnership with Delta State University, Delta Center for Culture and Learning, Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area, National Park Service and StoryWorks Theater — provides training in historical interpretation by the field's leading experts.

🗣️We are looking for Coahoma County residents of all ages with strong leadership skills, a passion for storytelling and a commitment to sharing the history of the Delta.

Together, this cohort will create a site-specific historical tour that reflects moments of the lived experiences of Coahoma County citizens and develop research skills, project planning and community engagement.

The program is hybrid (with virtual and in-person classes and field trips). Cohort members receive a stipend and tuition and fees are covered for credits at Delta State.

This year’s Downtown Clarksdale Farmers Market was so incredible! Thank you, as always, to the residents of Clarksdale + Coahoma County, for showing up to support local growers. And thank you especially to the wonderful folks at Rootswell for taking this year‘s market to a whole new level, providing vouchers for nearly $10K (YES!) in FREE, FRESH LOCAL PRODUCE!

This year’s market managers were Layla Young, Thaxton Waters, and Javonta Lucas. Next time you see them, make sure to thank them for 16 weeks of hard work and community outreach that made this year’s market a huge success. THANK YOU!
