As the mowing season nears its end, the Historic Clarksburg WV Cemetery Preservation Alliance is facing a funding shortfall to complete essential maintenance in our historic cemeteries.

​We are in desperate need of donations to ensure the final cuts are made, keeping the resting places of WV pioneers, veterans, and local ancestors clean and dignified.

📢 Community Cleanup & Preservation Day

📍 Former I.O.O.F. Cemetery on South Chestnut Street, Clarksburg, WV

We're calling on the community to help with a cleanup and preservation effort at the historic I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Let's work together to honor the past and restore this important space.

We need your help with:

Headstone Resetting: This is a key focus for this event. We'll be working to carefully clean, reset, and stabilize headstones. No experience is necessary—we'll provide guidance and tools.

Mowing and Trimming: The grounds need attention! We're looking for volunteers with push mowers and w**d eaters to help with overgrown areas.

General Groundskeeping: From picking up litter to clearing brush, there are tasks for everyone.

Lunch and drinks will be provided to all volunteers. Every helping hand makes a difference!

Date: Tuesday, August 26th & Wednesday, August 27th

Time: Starting at 7:00 a.m.

Let’s come together to preserve this piece of Clarksburg's history.
