Delta FFA competed on Saturday in the Lodi FFA Grapevine Pruning Contest and placed 4th overall. This team just started a couple of weeks ago and did great competing against other teams that have been competing for the last few years.

Today we celebrate Damian's last day as the Delta Education Vineyard Intern and introduce our newest Intern- Alan. Alan is a junior at Delta High School and he is raising a market hog for the Sacramento County Fair and he has been working in the vineyard since middle school. Gavin was tagging along and learning a few things as well.

Today, Delta FFA Members watched a machine pre-prune the vineyard. Next step, students will be pruning!

Congratulations to Damian Miranda for being awarded a scholarship from the Delta Education Vineyard. Damian worked hard over the last summer and fall helping maintain the vineyard and the harvest of 25,000 pounds of fruit.

Hello Supporters of Delta FFA!

The Yolo Section FFA is having its annual Speaking Contests at River City High School (West Sacramento) on Wednesday, December 8th starting at 3:30 p.m. Each school is asked to bring one judge for the following contests: Creed Speaking, Job Interview, Impromptu Speaking, Extemporaneously Public Speaking, and Prepared Public Speaking. If you are interested in being a judge and helping out and being a role model for high school youth, please reach out to me and I will forward the information you will need. Chenin Blanc has been picked and sent to the Old Sugar Mill for bottling. Students picked 16,296 pounds of grapes over three days!!

Delta FFA started harvesting Chen Blanc today. Three classes picked 3000 pounds of grapes. Once row to harvest tomorrow and we will wait for the next 4 rows to get enough sugar before we pick again.
