Our 5th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway event was a HUGE success once again & made so many young ladies happy!! We had attendees from 12 different high schools across the area, gave away nearly 250 free dresses, dozens of pairs of shoes, and countless accessories, all generously donated by the community! GRATEFUL does not sum up our feelings fully ❤️ This event would not be possible without our dedicated and hard working Clarksburg Closet volunteers, Cedarbrook Community Church, and Allied Event Solutions who generously donated dress racks for us to use to display our gowns for a third year in a row. Thanks again for all the community support! Until next year….👗💃👠👛

Clarksburg Closet is proud to present our 5th annual Prom Dress Giveaway event TOMORROW, Saturday March 21st from 10am-2pm at Cedarbrook Community Church (23700 Stringtown Road in Clarksburg, MD). All are welcome & each teen girl can select one FREE dress, as well as shoes and accessories! Look at all these beautiful dresses!! We are looking forward to making your Prom dreams come true! Last year we gave away nearly 300 “like new” donated gowns, as well as formal shoes, handbags and accessories to teens from throughout Montgomery County and beyond!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Have formal dresses, shoes or accessories to donate? Donations can be dropped off at the following locations & times:

— Clarksburg Closet (23810 Stringtown Rd, Clarksburg, MD) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am-1pm, and the 1st Saturday of each month (2/7 and 3/7) from 10am-12pm

— Cedarbrook Community Church (23700 Stringtown Rd, Clarksburg, MD) on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays 9:30am-4pm, or Sunday morning during services at 9am and 11:15am

PLEASE NOTE: Clarksburg Closet will be CLOSED to give our hard working team of volunteers a much needed break from December 22nd through January 5th. We will reopen on Tuesday, January 6th.

THANK YOU so very much for all your donations this past year! With the community’s generous support, we were able to help THOUSANDS of people in need throughout Montgomery County, partnering with MCPS, DHHS, CPS, Catholic Charities, Identity, Shepphard Pratt and more!

CALL FOR DONATIONS! It’s been a SUPER busy back-to-school season with an overwhelming number of clothing requests coming in and going out the door from throughout the county, and our inventory of children’s clothing, in particular, has been depleted.

ASK: Although we are always happy to receive any clothing, coat and shoe donations in any size, age, or gender, WE ARE IN PARTICULAR NEED OF CHILDREN’S CLOTHING right now.

Donation drop off times at Clarksburg Closet (located at 23810 Stringtown Road) are:

— Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10am-1pm

— First Saturday of each month from 10am-12pm

We are so very grateful for this partnership with Clarksburg Dental Center! Dr. Lin, Dr. Liu and their entire staff have always been so supportive of Clarksburg Closet…from donating toothbrushes and toothpaste, to sharing information about our ministry and donating their own clothing! They are a wonderful dental practice filled with caring people! THANK YOU, Clarksburg Dental Center!!

Clarksburg Dental Center is proud to announce a successful donation to Operation Second Chance, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving wounded, injured, and ill veterans and their families. This contribution was made possible through the dental practice’s New-Patient Donation Program, which pledged support for every new patient seen between late 2024 and early 2025.

The program, launched last November by Dr. Edmund Liu and Dr. Chung Lin, reflects the practice’s commitment to giving back to those who serve and to making a positive impact in the Germantown community.

“As immigrants, we’re deeply grateful for the freedoms we enjoy in this country, and it has been an honor to support the veterans who have defended those freedoms,” says Dr. Liu. “We’re incredibly thankful for the patients who joined us in this effort; their participation made this gift possible.”

Operation Second Chance, which recently celebrated 20 years of service, provides hands-on support and immediate assistance to wounded and ill veterans and active duty Purple Heart recipients, helping them overcome challenges during their recovery and transition to civilian life.

With the next phase of its donation program underway, Clarksburg Dental Center has now partnered with Clarksburg Closet, a local outreach ministry operated by Cedarbrook Community Church. Clarksburg Closet provides free clothing and essentials to families in need throughout Montgomery County. In partnership with MCPS school counselors, county agencies, and organizations like Catholic Charities and Identity, the ministry helps newcomers to the country and families facing hardship gain access to vital resources.

“We know that many of our neighbors are struggling to make ends meet,” said Dr. Lin. “By partnering with Clarksburg Closet, we’re able to help meet basic needs right here at home, ensuring families have clothing and essentials as they get back on their feet.”

Just like before, Clarksburg Dental Center will continue donating for every new patient seen, with contributions now supporting Clarksburg Closet through the end of 2025. Patients and community members can participate by referring friends and family members, or simply by scheduling an appointment, knowing that each visit helps make a difference.

“This program has become a way for our team, our patients and our community to give back together,” says Dr. Liu. “We’re excited to carry this momentum forward and support even more of our neighbors through Clarksburg Closet.”
