What kind of community allows its children to be woken up every morning by the sound of gunfire? Its veterans, its elderly, its people with ptsd... Hardworking individuals who pay their taxes and want to live with a bit of normal harmony... Hearing the birds sing and the breeze through the trees while the dogs bark and the children play in their backyards and ride their bikes through the streets. neighbors talking with each other as they go through their daily rituals and routines...
Gunfire... loud, rapid, incessant, starting early in the morning and continuing all day long.
This is all ignored & justified so that the local police can incessantly shoot bullets that taxpayers purchase into the mountains of their community. What kind of community is this? I dare say it isn't a healthy or well-run one.
This needs to stop.
We can talk economics too, if that is what helps put things in clear perspective for you. Potential home buyers in the community will not purchase a home here once they become aware of the existence of the township gun range. The gun range significantly decreases the value of the property here.
We need to be proactive as a community of people and shut the gun range down.
It isn't ok. Let's be honest. It's a gun club for police officers. It is unnecessary. It is an abuse of community trust and a misuse of public funds. It's a public nuisance and an unhealthy presence where we live.
What about protecting the peace and insuring a sense of security where we live our lives with our loved ones in the place we call home?
Let's organize. Is there anyone out there who is interested in working together on this issue?
