***Reminder***

Monday 8/10, those who need to attend a public meeting for Communication or a Citizenship class need to meet at the scout hut at 4:45pm.

We will ride the bus to the government building to attend the city meeting.

Additionally, please be sure to respond to the group text if you plane to attend the rafting trip next weekend or if you plan to attend the UGA game. We must know by this Friday to make the reservations. If you do not get your name on the list then you will not be able to attend.

EAGLE SCOUT LEGEND: STEVEN SPIELBERG—Long before Steven Spielberg became one of the most influential filmmakers in history, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

His journey behind the camera even has roots in Scouting. While working toward the Photography merit badge, a young Spielberg created an 8mm film, helping spark a lifelong passion for visual storytelling.

From Jaws and E.T. to Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List, Spielberg went on to shape generations of filmmaking. In 1989, he was also recognized with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.

His story is a reminder that the skills, interests, and confidence developed through Scouting can become the foundation for extraordinary things.

Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.

Good evening, everyone,

This is Jon Johnson.

In the very near future, Logan and I will be starting a Venturing Crew. This will be a new unit that the youth members will run and decide what activities they wish to venture into.

This is a separate unit with separate activities and is NOT intended to replace our troop. Crews have a little more freedom when it comes to activities, so there may be more adventurous activities available in this new unit.

We will be looking for a few leaders to help run the crew, and any scouts that would be interested in joining. Logan already has a few people interested from other units.

Those who are already scouting member will not have any additional costs, but will need to submit new applications.

My company, US Contracting will charter the unit with my wife signing on as the COR. I will fill the position of Committee Chair. We will need to fill the following positions:
○ Crew Asvisor
○ Associate Crew Advisers
○ Crew Committee Members

Youth Positions elected by youth
○ Crew President
○ Administrative V.P.
○ Program V.P.
○ Secretary
○ Treasurer
○ Historian
○ Quarter Master
○ Guide
○ Activites Chair

Crew leadership will have Crew related training to take on My.scouting.org
