Harvesting hope and nourishing our community! 🧺🥕

The Country Pantry extends our deepest gratitude to our friends at St. Mary’s Church for their extraordinary generosity throughout the summer and fall months.

Week after week, baskets, bags, and boxes overflowing with fresh tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini, peppers, apples, and more arrived at the pantry to help feed local families in need.

The two large gardens at the church rectory were truly impressive—beautifully tended, lovingly cared for, and amazingly bountiful! A huge thank you to all the volunteer gardeners whose hard work yielded hundreds of pounds of fresh, healthy produce for our neighbors.

God bless your efforts and dedication to making a difference! 💚🙏

Last night, Mary Zimbler and Sally Glouse had the pleasure of attending "A One-Night Culinary Experience" at the Davenport House on the Hamilton College campus. It was an incredible evening of delicious food, making new connections, and catching up with old friends!

A huge thank you to the Clinton Kirkland Improvement Corporation - CKIC for hosting such a wonderful event, and to Chef Tim Hardiman of Hardiman Hospitality for the delicious food. This locally led group has dedicated itself to the betterment of our community, and they do it well!

We were deeply inspired by Hamilton College President Steven Tepper’s warm remarks encouraging everyone to share their gifts and talents to strengthen our community.

We are immensely grateful that a portion of the proceeds from the evening will support The Country Pantry. Thank you to everyone who made this special night possible! 💙

NOTICE TO OUR COUNTRY PANTRY FAMILY:

Exciting news! Mohawk Valley Gives is a special online day of giving hosted by The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties to support local nonprofits.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Utica National Insurance Group Foundation Fund, we have been granted a $15,000 matching grant!

Here is what that means for our neighbors:

- 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫-𝐟𝐨𝐫-𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫: Donate up to $100 tomorrow, and it will be matched completely!
- 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬: Every dollar stays local, allowing us to purchase food through the Food Bank of Central New York and source fresh produce directly from our local farmers.
- 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: We are currently serving 400 to 600 local families every single month, and your support keeps our shelves stocked.

Our hearts are heavy today, but they are also filled with deep gratitude. We are deeply saddened to share that one of our original founders, Lucille Internicola, passed away peacefully at the age of 102.

Lucille was the true heart and moral compass of her family, and so much of her warmth and generosity was built right into the foundation of The Country Pantry. Because of her vision years ago, countless local families have had food on their tables and a helping hand when they needed it most.

To her daughter Judy Hinman, who is such a beloved, close friend to all of us here at the Pantry, and to the entire Internicola family, we are sending you all our love and deepest prayers. Lucille’s incredible legacy of kindness lives on in every bag of groceries we pack and every neighbor we greet.
