The Clark Fork/Hope Area Senior Services formed in 1974 for the purpose of serving the senior population of the area. In 1977, the facility was built at its present location to provide a place to serve meals and to provide activities for our seniors. In 1990 the center was expanded to meet the needs of the community. By 2011, after 25 years of service, our center needed painting, upgrading and re-modeling. With the support and efforts of our then Mayor of Clark Fork, Jeff Jeffers, an Idaho Community Development Block Grant of $68,000 was obtained. Also an additional $1,500 was raised by the Senior Services to renovate The Center. With quality workmanship from local contractors, and countless hours of donated labor, The Center has been renovated inside, and out. With new flooring, energy efficient lighting, a modern kitchen, enlarged restrooms and new paint inside and out. In 2015 we received a CAL grant which enabled us to purchase new tables and chairs that were much needed. Ruen Drilling donated a commercial refrigerator and Stutzke Stone donated a commercial mixer.
