When spring and early summer roll around, you’ll see lots of baby animals. Because of this, we get quite a few calls about hurt, sick, or abandoned animals. If you happen to come across wildlife this time of year, in almost every case the best thing that you can do for the health and safety of those young ones is to leave them right where they are. Their mothers know what they’re doing and will often leave them unattended until danger passes.

EDIT 5/21: The "Earth, Moon, and Sun Session" and BOTH sessions of "Star Finding and Constellations" are FULL and from submissions for these are CLOSED. ALL forms will close 5/22 at 10pm .

Also, if you submit a form you will NOT receive a confirmation email. You will only be emailed an event reminder on Friday night. I will also send out an email if the session was full at the time of your registration to confirm you have been placed on a waitlist. Unfortunately, I am unable to set up a form response limit the way I have the form structured so I am doing my best to stay on top of the submissions and closing the forms in which are full and already have several people on the waitlist.

Again, please let me know if you have any questions by emailing [email protected]. We can't wait for you to join us in this first public event for the StarLab!

EDIT 5/19: Due to the popularity of the Star Finding and Constellations session I have decided to open a second session of it during the evening 5:20pm-6:05pm. The morning session is now CLOSED. The registration form for the evening session is below with the rest of the forms. All other sessions still have some spots available!

Also...I forgot how tall the StarLab is and wont fit in the enclosed shelter. The Starlab will now be held at the park offices.

May 23rd at Lake Cornelia Park and Campground we will have the Star Lab, a digital planetarium, up and ready to take you on a journey through space. Explore the constellations, planets, and much more! There will be multiple sessions throughout the day on various topics. This is FREE and open to the public, however, RSVP is REQUIRED due to limited seating. Please visit the Star Lab event page for more information and links to register.

Later that night we will be having a star party! We will look at the different constellations, try to catch some planets and the moon with a telescope, and enjoy some campfire treats while we stargaze. This event is FREE and RSVP is NOT required. Please visit the Star Party event page for more information.

Both events are pinned on our page! Please contact [email protected] for any questions!

PAY FOR YOUR FIREWOOD!

The wood bins at Lake Cornelia Park are run by private individuals not the Conservation Board. We received an update from the individual who runs this bin and a full 1/3 of the bundles that were taken were not paid for. Unfortunately this happens to an extent every year, but a 33% loss is extremely high. We provide the bins and organize suppliers as a service to the campers in the park. If you want to keep this service, please pay for firewood.

As a reminder, bundles are $5.00 each and payment needs to be placed in the deposit box attached to the bin where the firewood was taken.
