🌟 Mentor Monday Spotlight 🌟

This week we’re featuring Chelsea, who has been a TeamMates mentor since August 2025! 💙

Chelsea’s favorite part is the moment her mentee sees her in the lunchroom — “her face lights up the whole room!” From there, it’s all about talking, playing games, and being a little silly together.

Chelsea serves on the TeamMates Clarinda board and felt called to do more — mentoring was the perfect way to give back. She shares that this experience has brought so much light into her life and even shifted her perspective in meaningful ways.

Strong communities are built through connection, guidance, and support. We’re thankful for our partnership with the Sheriff’s Department as we work together to invest in local youth through our mentoring program. 💙

By building positive relationships and showing up for kids, we’re helping create confidence, encouragement, and brighter futures — one match at a time.

🌟 Mentor Monday Spotlight 🌟

This week we’re featuring Marcia, who has been a TeamMates mentor for about 1.5 years! 💙

Marcia meets with her mentee during lunch and loves the time they spend together — whether it’s playing basketball and volleyball or games like Battleship and Operation. She shares that her mentee is not only competitive, but also patient and full of enthusiasm, making every visit fun and memorable.

She became a mentor to make a difference in a child’s life and show that adults can be fun, supportive, and encouraging. Marcia says she gains just as much from the relationship, especially from her mentee’s zest for life and strong potential as a future leader.

We had an amazing turnout for Pizza & Puzzles, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible sponsors and everyone who showed up, laughed, competed, and supported such a meaningful cause.

This week we’re highlighting Jim, who is in his first year as a TeamMates mentor! 💙

Jim enjoys the time he spends with his mentee — especially the games they play and the conversations that come along with them.

He became a mentor to make a positive impact in someone’s life, and mentoring is especially meaningful to him. Having grown up as the oldest son of a single mom and benefiting from mentors himself, Jim sees this as a powerful way to give back and pay it forward.
