We join many others in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton. While she will always be remembered for her music, her influence is also felt right here in Clarinda through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

Many community members have recently asked about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and how the program works, so we wanted to share a little more about the partnership that helps bring books to local children each month. Currently, 144 children in the Clarinda area are getting a book each month through the program!

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library, administered by the Dollywood Foundation, provides high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age five. The Foundation carefully selects the books, negotiates affordable pricing, and manages the nationwide infrastructure that makes the program possible.

Locally, the Clarinda Public Library Foundation serves as our funding partner. The Foundation covers the cost of each book, typically less than $2, along with approximately $1 per book for mailing. Thanks to this support, children enrolled in the program receive a new book delivered directly to their mailbox every month until their fifth birthday.

Several patrons have asked how they can support the program. Contributions may be made directly to the Clarinda Public Library Foundation. Donations can also be made through the Dollywood Foundation and designated for our local Imagination Library program.

We are grateful for the lasting impact of Dolly Parton's vision and for a program that continues to inspire a love of reading by putting books directly into the hands and homes of children.

What a great evening! 👏

Last night, we had the pleasure of co- hosting a Tax Efficient Charitable Giving program with Austin Gutknecht of SageSpring Wealth Partners and the Clarinda Foundation.

Austin did an excellent job breaking down ways individuals and families can make a bigger charitable impact while potentially reducing their tax burden. We covered recent tax law changes, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), and Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).

A big thank you to Sage Springs Wealth Partners, the Clarinda Foundation, and Austin Gutknecht for making the evening possible.
