Because of YOU… we are getting to work.

Tomorrow we head out to start picking up supplies and materials for the first phase of preserving the historic Jericho Motor Courts on Route 66.

What started as a birthday fundraiser has already turned into real momentum.

Thank you to every person who donated, shared a post, sent encouragement, or reached out wanting to help. Y’all are the reason this project is moving forward.

Now you’re going to start seeing the work happen.

You’ll see materials being purchased.
You’ll see cleanup and stabilization begin.
You’ll see this old piece of Route 66 history start coming back to life.

We are also looking for volunteers who want to be part of the build and restoration process. If you would like to help, send us a message and watch for upcoming volunteer build days.

We are still accepting donations and every board adopted helps move this project forward one step at a time.

This is bigger than buildings.
This is about preserving history, stories, and legacy.

Let’s save Jericho.

We want to take a moment to share what this page is about and the work we are beginning in Jericho.

Out in Jericho, Texas, along Route 66, sits the old Jericho Motor Courts. These structures have been here for generations and are part of the history of the Jericho Gap and the early days of travel across the Panhandle.

Over time, weather and neglect have taken their toll. Roofs are failing and parts of the buildings are exposed. Without action, this piece of history will be lost.

Through the Jericho Legacy Foundation, we are beginning the work to stabilize and preserve what we can.

Our goal is simple
Preserve what we can
Honor the history
And pass it on to the next generation

Yesterday, we quietly started sharing this effort and saw an incredible response.

Because of that support
10 boards were adopted on the first day

That tells us this matters

If you would like to be part of this effort, you can adopt a board for $66 and be part of the restoration.

There are also opportunities to support at higher levels for those who feel called to do so.

The donation link is in the comments.

Thank you for being here and for supporting the Jericho Legacy Foundation and the work we are doing together.

On this Giving Tuesday, we invite you to help keep the story of Jericho, Texas alive for generations to come.

The Jericho Legacy Foundation is a small, volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to preserving the history and cultural heritage of the old Township of Jericho, a once-thriving Panhandle community that has all but vanished from the map. Through archival research, oral-history collection, landmark restoration, educational programs, and sustainable-agriculture initiatives on the original townsite, we are making sure the lessons, faith, and grit of Jericho’s pioneers continue to speak to our children and grandchildren.

We aren’t part of any big Giving Tuesday campaign or matching-grant program this year, but every gift, no matter the size, goes directly toward saving photographs, recording the memories of the last living residents, maintaining the old cemetery, reprinting out-of-print Jericho histories for schools, and planting demonstration crops that show how families once fed themselves on this land.

If the idea of a forgotten Texas town finding its voice again moves you, would you consider a Giving Tuesday gift to the Jericho Legacy Foundation today?

Thank you for helping us prove that even the smallest places deserve to be remembered.
