✨ We’re Hiring: Early Childhood Educator ✨
The Folksy House | 2026–2027

The Folksy House is seeking a warm, grounded Early Childhood Educator to join our program.

We’re open to a lead, co-teacher, or assistant…the right person matters most.

This role is for someone who sees early childhood as a protected, meaningful time… and can create a space that feels calm, rhythmic, and truly nurturing.

You might be a good fit if you:
• Have experience in Waldorf early childhood, Lifeways, or similar
• Can hold a gentle daily rhythm for children ages 3–6
• Enjoy painting, baking, storytelling, puppet work, and simple handcrafts
• Can lead circle time, tell stories from memory, and sing (heartfelt > perfect)
• Are open to learning about simple Montessori-style shelf work for some groups of children
• Love being outdoors in all seasons (gardening, animals, nature play)
• Can guide gently while honoring true play

This is hands-on, physical work…supporting children in daily care, moving between indoors and outdoors, and being fully present in the day.

We’re looking for someone who brings warmth, steadiness, and care…someone who can help create a childhood that feels simple, whole, and deeply rooted.

✨ Part-time, half days (hours vary by role)
✨ Clarence, NY

If this feels like you, we’d love to hear from you. Send us a note at [email protected] and tell us about yourself, your experience, and what draws you to this work.

We’re hiring: Baking Arts Teacher
The Folksy House | 2026–2027

The Folksy House is looking for someone to help lead the baking side of our program…bringing warmth, nourishment, and meaningful work.

Our kitchen is a beloved part of our school. What is made here is shared across classrooms, at our farm stand, and within our wider community.

During the week, you’ll be baking for The Cottage (our new play cafe) + Slow Season (our partner coffee shop)….cookies, scones, muffins, cinnamon rolls, simple seasonal goods while keeping a steady flow of inventory.

Fridays are for working alongside the children.

You’ll guide them in shaping and baking bread (prepped during the week) and preparing simple baked goods for our farm stand with hands in dough, learning by doing.

This role is part baking, part teaching, and part tending to the rhythm of a shared kitchen.

It’s not a high-pressure bakery job, and it’s not a typical teaching role, it’s something in between.

✨ Part-time (20–25 hrs/week)
✨ Flexible schedule (Set schedule but the person has the ability to tailor to their needs) Fridays :Required: for class time 11a-3p
✨ Located in Clarence, NY

If this feels like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Send us a note about yourself + your experience, [email protected]

Folksy Summer Programming ‘26 Registration is OPEN! Link in bio!

Folksy Summer is a summer unlike any other.

This is a camp rooted in wholesome childhood, long days outdoors, muddy hands, busy bodies, and meaningful work. It’s not about over-the-top entertainment or constant stimulation…it’s about children discovering what they’re capable of.

At Folksy, campers learn real life skills in a way that feels deeply fun and empowering. They learn that their hands are capable, their bodies are strong, their ideas matter, and that they belong…to themselves, to one another, and to the natural world around them.

We spend our days in nature, building skills, nurturing confidence, practicing cooperation, and creating memories that feel timeless.

If you’re looking for a summer camp that values connection over consumption, presence over performance, and childhood as it’s meant to be, this is it.

✨ Spots will be limited this summer
✨ Ages 4-12
✨ 9a-12p. Sign up by the week! View registration to see camp themes and dates.

We can’t wait to welcome another summer of muddy hands, brave hearts, and capable kids. 🌿💛
