Claremore Community Pollinator Gardens

Claremore Community Pollinator Gardens These gardens have been established for all members of the community to enjoy. Their primary purpose is to create habitat for pollinators.

Kelly Boegemann, a current student at RSU, has teamed up with the City of Claremore and Green Country Beekeepers to create the Claremore Community Pollinator Gardens. The gardens are designed to create safe habitat for pollinators. Both gardens are located off of the Claremore Lake jogging trail and are for everyone in the community to enjoy. The first garden is a wild prairie habitat free of pest

icides planted with native pollinator plants and native grasses. This type of habitat is what communities and individuals have an opportunity to create along roadways, fence lines, and ditches. The second garden is under development and will be planted to reflect landscaped flowerbeds. This type of garden is what everyone within the community has an opportunity to create in their own home, school, and business gardens. The gardens will not only serve as a place for pollinators to thrive but also a place for everyone within the community to take a moment to enjoy nature, reflect, and be inspired. Both gardens will be submitting applications to become a certified Pollinator Habitat with pollinator.org, certified Monarch Waystation with monarchwatch.org, and a certified Wildlife Habitat with nwf.org. The Claremore Community Pollinator Gardens will also serve as a place to learn with interpretive signs, information, free community educational workshops, and native pollinator plant seed distributions.
