Formerly known as the Claremont Soul-idarity Club, the 5C Spirituality Club invites students to build a community where everyone can explore their views and goals about health, wellness, and spirituality. We meet once a week in the McAlister Center's library, often choosing a day and time that works best for the group's varying schedules. (You'll be able to swipe your ID card for access into the b
uilding.) The meeting is one hour long and usually includes a short (non-religious) reading and a related discussion, as well as a 5-10 minute meditation. We often choose our meditations from a book, yet also welcome students to volunteer to lead a meditation if they so choose. The beauty of the club is that it does not prescribe nor exhort any one faith, religion, or non-faith. As such, both religious and non-religious people are welcome, as are those who may yet still be exploring this path. We invite interested students to email us at [email protected]. Current details: For the last three semesters, we have been reading and discussing the Don't Sweat the Small Stuff series by Richard Carlson, Ph.D. It is a non-religious book, comprised of short chapters 2-3 pages each. We read the chapters aloud, by volunteer basis. We invite new and old members alike to bring in any readings, quotations, and other inspiring tidbits to share with us.)
