With just a few days left ESC is well on track to meet our goals for the year! Come tomorrow and Friday, our last two days of teaching, we are scheduled to teach over 800 8th grade students at the Upland Junior High School!!! Big shout out to Caleb Case, Lizzie Medford, Erin Ristig, Melanie Bello, Kirsten Peterson, Adin Bonapart, and Su Min Ha for their big volunteer efforts coming up in the next two days! Can't wait to hit our goals! Great job team and everyone who helped to make this happen this year!

Happy Day Energy Service Corps Volunteers! Here Is a list of the LAST K-12 lessons we have scheduled for the year. We really can use every single one of you to help with all these lessons coming up! Help us close out the semester strong, hitting our goal of teaching 3,000 kids over the course of the 2012-2013 school year!!! We really can use EVERYONES help.

Let's get all these kids educated how energy impacts their environment!

Email your campus organizer Melanie back with which class lesson works for you and she will send you a follow-up email with who you will be teaching with and the materials and logistics you will need to know to prep for the lesson.

What is to be done? Conservation in an era of climate change

What do we have to believe to believe in climate change? How we can reduce a changing climate’s impact on the places we call home? We are not the first generation to face such dramatic environmental challenges. Those who experienced the nineteenth-century industrial revolution, for instance, were justly afraid that notwithstanding the material wealth it produced this powerful force was destroying the land and the people it sustained. Their response was to create national forests and parks; protect endangered species and threatened watersheds; and fight for public health. Matching their principled activism will be essential if we hope to live sustainably in an unpredictable climate of change.
