Shugah Valley Snow Riders, Inc. Nestled between Mt. Ascutney and Green Mountain, Claremont NH has over 65 miles of scenic snowmobile trails. Or at trial work parties.

Cold temps and maybe a frost this week...good reminders that it's not too early to join the club. See the link below for quick & easy membership access. Most of the fees come back to help the club.

Thanks to our returning members! For those that used to belong and have since joined another club, we hope you get out and ride our trail system this year--and not just to get to another club's trails!

We've been working hard to get our trails in better shape so you don't have to feel like you need to go elsewhere for a good time out on the sled. Increased membership helps provide us with more resources to keep these trail projects moving forward.

What started out as a quick patch job turned into a whole repair. we were able to reuse a lot of the 4x6's and thank goodness we had Log Cabin Nursery's equipment to help move some lumber around.

One down....few more to go. Vets Park bridge is good to go. Thanks to landowner Chris Johnson for being always supportive of the club and today's bridge crew Luke, Ed. Lee, and Derek.

Get ready for the upcoming season by checking out some fun stuff this weekend hosted by one of our neighboring clubs in Charlestown, NH.

First club meeting of the season will be this Wednesday at 7 pm at RE Hinkley. Note, the regular meeting night is 4th Tuesday of the month but we had to bump it to Wednesday just for this week.

We will be discussing the work plan for bridges, trail trimming, and possible trail re-routes that need to get done before the snow flies. We will also have preseason groomer maintenance tasks and sign posting to do.

Lots of things that require money so please consider joining the club and/or supporting our fundraisers. These things also require volunteer time so please consider helping out.

We are changing things up a bit for our raffle this year. The prizes are bigger and the odds are better. Figured it would be fun to try something new. Contact us for info on tickets. We literally picked them up today from Doolittle's so we'll try and get some distributed in town.

We are working with Protectworth Brewery to host a preseason party on Dec 7th which is when we will do the drawing. Stay tuned for more details on that as we get closer.

We can accept Venmo for payment (contact club for details) and you do NOT need to be present to win!

Smells like snow in the air....

It's that time of year to check out your trailers, fire up the sled, and get some trail projects done so we are ready to go once the snow starts falling.

Some exciting news to share about our trails...the ATV club has done another major project on 395 between the power lines & Whitewater Res. Our club received two grants worth about $60K to start rebuilding Satterlee Road and that project will start after October 15th. This project should repair the trail from the Blueberry Ridge side up to bridge, and we applied for funding next year to go from the other side of the bridge up to the power lines where Corridor 5 heads to Grantham.

We also got grant funds from the state to re-deck the single sled bridge next to Vet's Park and also the Beagle Club bridge on Spring Farm Road because a contractor vehicle drove on the bridge and broke through the decking.

The City of Claremont did a fantastic job redoing the rail trail trestle over the Sugar River but we will need to put down the wear treads.

Also, we can confirm that Corridor 5 WILL BE OPEN THIS YEAR.

Stay tuned for work party announcements and fundraisers. We definitely need more volunteers to help with trail trimming, inspecting trails for downed trees, bridge building, and selling tickets for our raffles. Every little bit helps.

Our goal is to get our trail system as flat as possible so we can groom & ride with less snow on the ground. The past few years we've made great progress thanks in large part to the ATV club's projects (the BK trail is great example of this).

Another season ending shout out...this time to our grooming crew. Lee, Gary, and Luke spent many hours in the machines this year making the trails as good as we can. Working a full day and then hopping in a machine at 5 pm for a 5 or 6 hour ride in the groomer isn't always fun or convenient. We appreciate their commitment to the club. Thanks guys!

Reflecting on our season and wanted to give a huge shout out to the ATV Club for all the work they did on Burger King trail. Anybody that rode it this season had to notice it was perfectly smooth and a pleasure to ride. We were able to groom it early and often and the snow firmed up great and was still holding up long after the rest of our trails went away.

They also restored the old trail that ran in the woods parallel to Daniel's Field. That was also a pleasure to ride as a nice alternative to the field which has a few dodgy spots.

Anyway, if you know a member of the ATV Club, tell them thanks for making a key part of our shared trail system awesome. That stuff doesn't happen by accident. They invested a lot of money to get it done.

If the two clubs can keep working together in trail repairs and maintenance it will help us keep the trails in good shape for all riders to enjoy.
