Whether you are in-person or remote, every day matters.
Parents, you can check to see if your child is counted present or absent on Powerschool. If you’re not sure how your child’s teacher gauges attendance, be sure to get in touch with him/her.
Students need to do their work and communicate with their teacher every day. We want all of our students to succeed!

We would like to welcome Anna Killian to our Bunker Hill Family."Hi my name is Anna Killian. I am the new EC Cluster Teacher at Bunker Hill. I have lived in Catawba County my whole life. I have a Bachelors degree from Appalachian State University and a Masters in Emergency Management from Millersville University. I am currently in the lateral entry Residency program at Appalachian State University. I worked previously at RiverBend Middle School as a Teacher Assistant. Some of my favorite hobbies include playing with my dog Zoey and crafting of all different kinds. I am excited to be a part of the Bunker Hill family!"

Welcome to the Hill.

Join us in welcoming our new School Resource Officer Marcus Miller to "The Hill"
"Hello everyone! I am a 13 year veteran with the Catawba County Sheriff's Office. I have served as a trainer and supervisor in our county's Detention Center, been a patrol deputy, and now, I'm in my 7th year as an SRO. I serve on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Association of School Resource Officers (NCASRO) as the Region 7 Representative, which is made up of 13 counties. I'm also the only SRO in our county serving on the CCS Strategic Planning Committee.
I am a father of two, ages 27 & 21 years of age. I am a member of Maiden Chapel Baptist Church, as well as a 20 year member of Victory Masonic Lodge. I'm also the head track & field coach at Newton-Conover High School, where I proudly graduated from... 😄
My passion is working with young people, to help guide them through the toughest part of their lives, & encourage them to learn from others' mistakes & bad decisions. My calling is to be a shield to those that can't defend themselves, a mouth for those that are scared to speak, and a friend to those that have no one.
I am extremely excited to become a part of the BHHS community! I want to give you my best "me", through clear communication, assistance when needed, & laughter. Laughter is good for the soul & spirit, so I'll do my best to bring a smile to you everyday. Let's have a great year together Bears!!!"

"My name is Heather Hooker-Bowen. I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne with a degree in Comprehensive Secondary Science Education. I am coming to Bunker Hill after two years at MMS. This year I will be teaching Biology and Anatomy and Physiology. In my free time I enjoy hiking, gardening, and attempting to wrangle my menagerie of animals. I am so excited to get to join everyone on The Hill!"

"I grew up in Burke County and spent my first two years of high school at East Burke. As a sophomore, I transferred to the North Carolina School of Science and Math. I am a recent graduate from the University of North Carolina Wilmington where I received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics. In my free time, I love playing with my dog, Bleu, crafting, and exercising! I am so happy to be a Bear!"

"I graduated from App State in 2016 with a degree in English, Secondary Education. For the last four years, I've taught English 1 & 2 at Lee County High School in Sanford, NC. I'm excited to be teaching English 4 at Bunker Hill. My hobbies include reading, writing, cooking, baking and spending time with my husband and our dog, Buddy.

"I am very excited and grateful to become a Bear! I have been in education for nine years and with Catawba County Schools for three. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Career and Technical Education. I now have three beautiful children, an 8 year old girl- Aliyah, a 4 year old boy- Elijah, and a one week old baby girl named Londyn Marie. Besides my family, cheerleading is my passion. I am delighted to say that I will be helping Coach Jodie Kanipp with the BHHS Cheerleading team. Again, I am truly so excited to become a part of BHHS and look forward to meeting each of you!!"
