Behind every family we support is a dedicated specialist fighting for them, and finding those champion team members is one of our biggest hurdles. Rene, our Family Support Director, shares the harsh reality of recruiting in rural communities, where small non-profits like TLC often lose qualified staff to larger agencies with bigger budgets.

Community support helps bridge that gap, ensuring local families never have to go without the guidance and care they deserve. ❤️

Although we didn’t take home the gold, we still had an absolute blast at the chili cook-off and are so proud to walk away with 3rd place for Best Decorated Table AND 3rd place for Best Nonprofit! 🏆🌶️

​A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, tried our chili, and cast their vote for our official 2026 chili bean mascot. After a tight race, the people have spoken, and our new reigning champion is... Pippin MacDuff! 🎉

Meet Ashley, one of our incredible Family Support Specialists! 💛
​In our local kindergarten classrooms, Ashley introduces children to the Miss Kendra program; a safe space where little ones can share their biggest worries and learn that all feelings are completely valid.
​By teaching kids how to identify their emotions and lean on trusted adults early on, we're laying the groundwork for lifelong mental wellness and resilience.
We're so proud to continuously bring this vital emotional education to our community's youngest learners!
