Life is far from linear.

We go through cycles of work, play, and rest all the time, sometimes all at once. There is power in relinquishing control over variables you cannot control: the ebbs and flows of life.

Reclaim the power you do have to regulate your response to stressors in each new season. 🌳

Looking ahead to who you want to be is a good practice to building mindful habits. But it is hard to know where to go without taking inventory of where you are now.

Affirm who you are now:
- You are resilient.
- You are creative in your approach to life.
- You are a force for change.
- You are making a difference one life at a time.
- You are better at listening to your needs.

Teacher-friends, you are and you are becoming. 🌱

What happened in the past cannot be changed. It happened. You experienced it.

Are you allowing it to have power over your present?

It’s time to release the unhealthy situations and unproductive habits in your life. That can look like setting firmer boundaries in your work and personal life. It can mean taking accountability for your actions and creating actionable steps to make healthier habits.

Release what isn’t working anymore.
Rest in the newness of the opportunities before you.

It’s tiiiiiiime🗣️

To prioritize yourself in these last couple weeks before Winter Break. It is easy to get lost in the whirlwinds of finals tests, final grades, and those final days to your next break. The cold weather and cloudy skies affect your physical and mental wellbeing.

Take those vitamin D supplements! Enjoy a few minutes in the sun when it’s peeking through the clouds. Block off set dates and times for focus work and rest.

No need to burnout right before break. Go into it all with a sense of peace and calm. Yes, even in the midst of the chaos.

How are you taking care of yourself this month?❄️⛄️

Wise words from Dr. Wentz! 😌

Whether you have a few days left until Thanksgiving break or you’re enjoying an entire week off, enjoy it all to the fullest.

We are GRATEFUL and THANKFUL for the work you are doing! 🍂

With all the adjustments to the time change and the buzz of the holidays, it’s OKAY to look forward to the breaks ahead.

There is no shame in having a countdown to fall and winter breaks. Celebrate those days!

You’ve been working tirelessly these last few months. You found your groove to grading. You know all your students’ names. You got used to their personalities and ever-changing interest. You met new colleagues or reconnected with old ones. Or maybe those dynamics changed with the various demands of teaching and your life. You are learning more about yourself as a teacher and human being.

That is a lot for one person in charge of impacting future generations.😅

So, if you’re counting down the days until those sweet days and weeks of rest, do it. It’s good to have something to look forward to.

This week, Hurricane Melissa brought destruction and devastation to the Caribbean islands. Jamaica holds a special place in our hearts as our founder has humble beginnings on the island.

Next week, she will be returning to Jamaica to help rebuild parts of the island that were severely impacted.

If you’d like to donate directly to these efforts, the Government of Jamaica has established an official relief website. Donate here: http://supportjamaica.gov.jm/ or check the link in our story.

As our founder has said: “Our collective care truly makes a difference. Together, we lead with heart and hope.”

Thank you! 🇯🇲🤍

The quiet victories:
- eye contact
- “I get it!” moments
- the raised hand

Celebrate these moments, these victories that are shaping your students’ lives. In the craziness of the school year, look for these moments in your students and for yourself. Affirm them and yourself.

Your work matters. You are planting seeds and tilling the soil of young minds, preparing them for their future beyond your classroom.

We need your work. We need YOU. 🍁
