God specializes in taking broken stories and creating som**hing beautiful.

Isaiah 61:3 — "To give them beauty for ashes."

We saw it with Tosha + Tevin:

Ashes: Years of drug abuse • Jail stays • Sleeping porch to porch
Beauty: Both graduated Hope Center in 2024 • 4 years clean • Tosha now supervisor at Hustle Recovery counseling 2 women • Tevin has an honest job, soon to be a dad • Tosha soon to be a grandmother

He's still doing it today.

It costs $700 to get someone in the door at Hope Center.

$58.33/month = you open the door for the next one God sends.

Comment DOOR or DM us DOOR and we'll send you how to open a door.

2026 Fall Retreat

🍂 HOPE CENTER MINISTRIES HELENA | 2026 FALL RETREAT 🍂

What a beautiful and refreshing weekend for our ladies! ❤️
This weekend, our Hope Center Helena ladies traveled to the beautiful Mission Valley for a special fall retreat—a weekend set aside for rest, fellowship, fun, and most importantly, an encounter with the love of God.
✨ We began with an incredible evening at Life for the Nations, where our staff and residents were invited into an intimate night of “Encounter”—an opportunity to slow down, draw near to God, and experience just how deeply He loves us.
🏔️ We were also blessed to stay at the new Hope Center Ministries Mission Valley Center and spend a day at a beautiful Flathead Lake resort, where the ladies could relax, swim, enjoy the hot tub, play games, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. We adventured to Lakeside Alpine Roller Coasters for an outdoor adventure. We also had the opportunity to help paint the wall outside Life for The Nations church.
🙏 We wrapped up this special weekend with a Sunday Service of Hope, hosted by Life for the Nations and Pastor Chad Hoffman—a wonderful way to close out a weekend centered on connection, restoration, and the love of Jesus.
We want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who gave, served, hosted, prayed, donated, and helped make this weekend possible. Because of your generosity and support, our ladies were able to step away from the everyday routine and experience a weekend filled with beautiful memories, meaningful relationships, and the presence of God.
Thank you for loving our ladies and continuing to believe in what God is doing in their lives. ❤️

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”
— 1 John 3:1

20+ years of addiction cost JD almost everything.

Family.
Jobs.
Money.
Everything he owned.

But it didn't get the final word.

JD Dockins had spent more than two decades trapped in addiction when his probation officer gave him an opportunity:

Go out of state and enter Hope Center Ministries in Union City.

JD took the chance.

And that's where his story began to change.

He found a staff that cared.
A community that stood beside him.
Counselors who invested in him.
A church and pastor who pointed him toward Christ.

They believed som**hing JD needed to discover for himself:

If he encountered God, everything could change.

And it did.

JD didn't just participate in the program. He began leading.

He became a Phase One Community Leader, helping men through their first 30 days and teaching the same things he was learning himself:

Show up.
Work hard.
Take responsibility.
Clean up after yourself.
Carry yourself differently.

He even joined the church choir.

Little by little, the man who had lost nearly everything was discovering som**hing addiction could never give him:

Purpose.

JD graduated from Hope Center Ministries on October 3, 2025.

Today, he's working full-time at Bobcat of Union City as an outside salesman.

From 20+ years of addiction...
to leadership, employment, community, and a life centered on God.

That's what faith-based recovery can look like.

Not simply leaving drugs or alcohol behind.

It's learning a new way to live.
Building healthy community.
Accepting accountability.
Developing a strong work ethic.
And allowing God to rebuild what

Addiction doesn't just affect one person.

It reaches into marriages.
Families.
Friendships.
Jobs.
Entire communities.

That's why Hope Center Ministries is about more than getting sober.

It's about restoration.

Since 2007, we've watched thousands of men and women walk through our doors carrying stories of addiction, broken relationships, lost purpose, and hopelessness.

But that's not where their stories ended.

Through Christ-centered recovery, accountability, community, and discipleship, we've seen lives completely transformed.

Parents reunited with their children.
Marriages restored.
Families brought back together.
Men and women discovering purpose again.

Because behind every addiction is a person.

And behind that person is a story still being written.

That's who Hope Center is for.

The person who thinks they've gone too far.
The family wondering if things will ever change.
The person who's tried everything and doesn't know where to turn next.

There is hope.
There is freedom.
And there is a way forward.

Restoring lives.
Restoring families.
Restoring communities.

If you know someone who needs to hear this today, SHARE this video with them.

And if Hope Center has impacted your life or your family, tell us your story in the comments. Your story might be exactly what someone else needs to see today. ❤️

Alisha prayed for a day when she could wake up and NOT feel the need to get high.
Today, she's living the life she once prayed for.
But getting here meant walking through more pain than most people could see.
Alisha survived childhood sexual abuse.
She survived domestic violence in her marriage.
She experienced the loss of her babies.
She carried hurt.
Anger.
Grief.
And eventually, she went looking for som**hing to numb it all.
At 36, she began using m**hamphetamine.
What started as an outlet became addiction.
Her pain became so overwhelming that there were times Alisha didn't want to live anymore.
But somewhere in the darkness, she kept praying.
"God, please help me."
"Lead me where You want me to go."
"Help me remember who I am."
Then someone told her about Hope Center Ministries.
Alisha called her sister and said:
"This is where I'm supposed to go."
She had tried everything else.
Now she was ready to give God a chance.
BUT GOD.
Alisha entered Hope Center sick and still coming off m**h and Suboxone.
When it came time to begin vocational training, she was terrified she couldn't do it.
So every day, she prayed.
"God, be my hands. Be my feet. Be where I lack."
And every day, som**hing grew.
Her confidence.
Her strength.
And most importantly, her relationship with God.
Eventually, Alisha stopped making moves without praying first.
And the woman who once prayed just to make it through another day began discovering what she was actually capable of.
She learned she could work 12-hour days.
She could hold down a job.
She could buy a car.
She could pay her bills.
She could have a home.
She could build a life.
And she could pursue restoration with her three children.
That's what Christ-centered, faith-based recovery can look like.
Not just getting sober.
Learning how to live again.
Learning how to believe in yourself again.
Learning that the pain behind your addiction doesn't have to control the rest of your story.
Today, Alisha has a home.
A job.
A car.
And som**hing addiction could never give her:
Purpose.
If you're struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, you don't have to have everything figured out before asking for help.
Take the next step.
Tell someone you're struggling.
Get around people who will walk with you.
And if all you have left is a prayer, start there.
Alisha once prayed to remember who she was.
Today, she says:
"I know I wouldn't be me again without the Hope Center."
Restoring lives.
Restoring families.
Restoring communities.
If Alisha's story reminds you that God can rebuild a life one step at a time, drop a "BUT GOD" in the comments.
And share this with someone who needs to know there is still hope.

For 12 years, Amber was trapped in a cycle she couldn't break.
M**h and he**in had taken nearly everything.

Her peace.
Her time.
Her relationships.
Her trust.

And little by little, her sense of who she was.
She wanted to stop.
She promised herself she would change.
But no matter how many times she tried, she kept finding herself back in the same place.
Ashamed.
Broken.
Exhausted.
Wondering if she would ever find a way out.
BUT GOD.
Amber finally realized som**hing:
She wasn't going to win this battle in her own strength.
When she surrendered and cried out to God, things began to change.
Not because life suddenly became easy.
But because she wasn't fighting alone anymore.
God gave her strength for the days she didn't think she could make it through.
Courage to face the things she had done.
Humility to ask for forgiveness.
And hope that the parts of her life addiction had destroyed could actually be rebuilt.
Amber said it better than we ever could:
"I am not standing here today because I was strong enough. I am standing here because God's grace was stronger than my addiction."
That's what faith-based recovery is about.
Not simply putting down drugs and alcohol.
It's healing.
It's rebuilding trust.
It's restoring relationships.
It's learning to forgive yourself.
It's discovering that your past may be part of your testimony, but it does not have to be your identity.
Today, Amber is choosing life.
Choosing faith.
Choosing healing.
Choosing God.
She was bound, but God set her free.
She was broken, but God began restoring her.
She was lost, but God found her.
She was ashamed, but God showed her grace.
If you're struggling with addiction today, don't wait until you feel strong enough to ask for help.
Tell someone.
Stop trying to fight alone.
Surround yourself with people who will walk through recovery with you.
And give God the pieces of your life you think are too broken to restore.
Amber spent 12 years believing addiction might be the end of her story.
God had another chapter waiting.
Her past is her testimony.
Her recovery is God's grace.
And her future is in His hands.
If you believe no one is too far gone, drop a "BUT GOD" in the comments.
Then share Amber's story with someone who needs to know there is still hope.

Yesterday doesn’t get the final word. Today is a new opportunity to walk in freedom!

09/16/2026

In 2022, Tabitha Swaffer was convinced her life would never get better.

She was four years into a 10-year felony probation.
Then she got arrested again.
Rock bottom wasn't coming.
She was already there.

Broken.
Hopeless.
Feeling like an embarrassment.

Convinced she was a burden to the people she loved most.

BUT GOD.
Tabitha was given an opportunity to enter Hope Center Ministries in Portland, Tennessee.
And this time, she did som**hing different.
She completely surrendered.
Tabitha spent 12 months walking through Christ-centered, faith-based recovery and then stayed another seven months as an intern.
What happened next is what real transformation looks like.
Today, Tabitha is using the very story that once brought her shame to help other people find their way out.
She earned her CPRS-J certification.
She now works for the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency in her hometown, using her lived experience to help people caught in the same cycles she once knew so well.
She's rebuilt family relationships she thought were beyond repair.
She wrote and published a devotional.
She continues to volunteer at the Hope Center where her own journey began.
And she gained a group of forever sisters who walked beside her when she was learning how to live differently.
That's what faith-based recovery can do.
It doesn't erase your past.
God can give it purpose.
The arrest wasn't the end of Tabitha's story.
The probation wasn't the end.
The broken relationships weren't the end.
Rock bottom wasn't the end.
Sometimes the place that feels like the end becomes the place where God starts rebuilding everything.
If you're struggling with drug or alcohol addiction today, don't let your past convince you that your future has already been decided.
Ask for help.
Surrender to the process.
Surround yourself with people who will fight for your recovery.
Take the next right step, even when you can't see where it leads.
Today, Tabitha isn't walking in shame.
She's walking in purpose.
Helping others.
Serving her community.
Restoring relationships.
And telling people about the Jesus who never gave up on her.
Restoring lives.
Restoring families.
Restoring communities.
If you've ever watched God turn someone's rock bottom into a new beginning, drop a "BUT GOD" in the comments.
And share Tabitha's story with someone who needs to know that recovery is possible and their story isn't over.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, service members, families, and countless others forever impacted by that day.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember.
September 11 reminds us how powerful it is when people choose to serve, stand together, and care for their neighbors. At Hope Center Ministries, we believe we have an opportunity every day to do the same—to step into someone’s story and help them discover that hope is still possible.

Today, as we remember those who gave so much for others, we invite you to find a way to bring hope to someone around you.

Know someone struggling with addiction?
Help them take the first step toward hope.

These two photos are only four years apart.
But the difference between them is so much more than time.
29 years of addiction.
Three arrests in eight months.
A family that had reached its breaking point.
And a woman who believed she was too far gone to be saved.
But God.

Andrea Sheppard's transformation didn't begin because she finally became strong enough to beat addiction.
It began when she reached the end of herself.
In August 2022, Andrea found herself back in jail.
She was broken.
Ashamed.
Alone.
And convinced addiction would eventually take her life.
Then another inmate named Sherry looked Andrea in the eyes and told her som**hing she couldn't ignore.
Her life had to change.
Soon after, Andrea was given a Bible.
Her eyes landed on Isaiah 53:5:
"By His stripes we are healed."
Those words stayed with her.
Then someone told Andrea about Hope Center Ministries, a 12-month Christ-centered, faith-based recovery program.
She knew she couldn't go back to the streets.
So she waited 60 days in jail for a bed-to-bed transfer to Hope Center.
And when she arrived, som**hing was different.
For the first time in a long time, Andrea was safe.
Surrounded by women who loved Jesus.
Surrounded by people who believed her life still had purpose.
Given the space to get sober, renew her mind, and discover who God created her to be.
Then, just days after arriving, Andrea watched "The Passion of the Christ."
The movie opened with Isaiah 53.
The same chapter God had placed in front of her in that jail cell.
And suddenly, it became personal.
Jesus didn't just die for everyone else.
He died for her.
The woman who believed she was too far gone discovered that the grace of God could reach her too.
Andrea surrendered her life to Christ.
And she went all in.
She completed the Hope Center program.
She graduated on October 19, 2023.
Her family entered a season of restoration.
Her mind was renewed.
Her purpose changed.
And the woman who once believed addiction would kill her is now determined to help pull others out of the same darkness.
Today, Andrea is four years sober.
Look at these two pictures again.
This is why faith-based recovery is about so much more than getting clean.
It's about restoration.
A renewed mind.
A restored family.
A new identity.
A new purpose.
A completely different life.
Andrea calls her testimony:
"From death to life."
We call it another reminder that no one is too far gone.
If you're struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, don't let shame convince you that your story is already over.
Ask for help.
Get around people who will fight for your recovery.
Give yourself fully to the process.
And don't underestimate what God can do with a surrendered life.
There is hope.
There is freedom.
There is a way out.
If Andrea's transformation stopped you in your tracks, drop a "BUT GOD" in the comments and share this with someone who needs to know their story isn't over.

A little late on posting this, but we couldn't let it go without a shoutout! 🤠

Bob's Valley Market one of our wonderful local Vocational Training partners, generously gifted us tickets to the Last Chance Rodeo a few weeks ago—and we had SO much fun! 🐎

For at least three of our residents, it was their very first time attending a rodeo, which made the experience even more special! We’re so grateful for opportunities like this that allow our ladies to make memories, enjoy new experiences, and simply have fun together. ♡

Thank you, Bob’s Valley Market, for being such a blessing to Hope Center Ministries and to our community. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and generosity! 💙
