Oregon Military Museum Project

The Oregon Military Museum Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which will complete the construction of the Oregon Military Museum.

The Oregon Military Museum Project is organized to carry out the following activities; to complete the construction and exhibits and prepare future operations of the Oregon Military Museum, including with public and private partners; to build and nurture essential relationships with business and community leaders, companies and corporations in the Pacific Northwest (and the wider region) to raise funds necessary to complete construction of the Oregon Military Museum.

You can find Katrina most days welcoming visitors at the main entrance and helping create meaningful experiences throughout the museum.

Today we celebrate the birthday of the United States Army, established on June 14, 1775.

For more than two centuries, soldiers have served with courage, commitment, and dedication through times of peace and conflict—helping shape the history of our nation and communities.

At Oregon Military Museum Project, we’re proud to help preserve and share the stories of Army service members whose experiences reflect sacrifice, resilience, and service across generations.

Today we recognize the history, the legacy, and the people behind the uniform.

Today is Women Veterans Day!

We recognize and honor the women who have served our country with courage, dedication, and strength.

Women have played an important role throughout military history: serving in times of war and peace, leading, supporting, and breaking barriers along the way. Their contributions and experiences continue to shape both our armed forces and our communities.

At Oregon Military Museum Project, we are committed to preserving and sharing the stories of all who served, including the women whose service, sacrifice, and leadership have left a lasting impact.

Today we celebrate and thank women veterans for their service and the legacy they continue to build.

🪖 Living History Day — Always a Favorite!

This SATURDAY step into the past and experience history in a way that goes beyond reading signs and viewing displays.
Experience history in motion as we showcase modern military vehicles, equipment, and technology alongside their historic counterparts. This year’s focus is on the “Modern Era” (1990s-2020s), highlighting the more recent service of veterans from the Gulf War through 9/11 to the present day. See up close the technology and equipment used by today’s Oregon National Guard (Army and Air), who continue to shape and serve Oregon and the Nation.

🇺🇸 D-Day – June 6, 1944

Today we remember D-Day, the day Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy during World War II; one of the largest military operations in history.

Behind the history books and photographs were individuals: young men carrying fear, courage, determination, and hope as they stepped into an uncertain future.

At Oregon Military Museum Project, we believe preserving military history means preserving the human stories behind moments like these. The stories of sacrifice, resilience, and service that continue to shape generations.

Today we pause to remember those who served, those who sacrificed, and those whose courage changed history.

The Honor Brick Program offers a meaningful way to recognize a veteran, active-duty service member, family member, or someone whose service and legacy deserve to be remembered.

Each brick becomes part of the museum experience; helping preserve Oregon’s military history while creating a lasting tribute for generations to come.

💚 PTSD Awareness Month

June is PTSD Awareness Month. A time to increase understanding, reduce stigma, and remind people that asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Experiences during and after military service can affect people in different ways, and no two journeys look the same. At Oregon Military Museum Project, we believe preserving military history also means recognizing the human experiences behind the uniforms, stories, and service.

If you or someone you know is looking for support, the Clackamas County Veteran Services Office (link in comments) can help connect veterans and families with local resources and support services. Services are available for veterans living with PTSD and related challenges.

You do not have to carry it alone.
