Some wars never fully leave the people who survived them.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall holds more than names.
It holds unfinished conversations.
Memories.
Brothers who never came home.
The weight carried quietly for decades.

For many veterans, remembrance is not history.
It is daily life.

This artwork was created to honor the invisible continuation of service — the healing, the grief, the resilience, and the memories carried long after the war ended.

“The war ended. The remembering did not.”

If this piece speaks to you, take a moment to reflect on the names, stories, and sacrifices that continue to shape families and communities today.

Some partnerships help move projects forward.

Others help make them possible.

The Citrus Heights Veterans Memorial Project is deeply grateful to Calvary Cemetery & Funeral Center for its partnership, support, and shared commitment to honoring all veterans and their families.

Through the donation of the memorial site and continued collaboration, Calvary Cemetery has helped create the foundation for a permanent place of remembrance, reflection, and education for future generations.

This memorial is being built through community, stewardship, and shared purpose — and we are thankful for those helping bring it to life.

Marine Corps League members attending the Southwest Division Conference in Las Vegas — we invite you to take a look at what is being built in Citrus Heights, California.

The Citrus Heights Veterans Memorial Project is working to bring a Vietnam Veterans Memorial to the Western Region — creating a permanent place of honor, remembrance, and reflection for veterans, families, and future generations.

This is more than a local California project. This memorial is intended to serve veterans and visitors from across the West and will become the largest Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall west of the Missouri River.

For many in the Western United States, Washington, D.C. is simply too far away. This project will help bring a place of remembrance closer to home.

If you are attending the conference and would like more information, talk to Jon Hitesman — he is there with you and serves on our Board of Directors.

We also proudly have three Marine Corps Devil Dogs serving on our board helping move this mission forward.

If your detachment or unit would like to connect, comment below or reach out. We would love to expand awareness throughout the Marine Corps League and the Western Region.

Honor. Remember. Connect.

This is a $7 million project.
And we are already more than halfway there.

Through land and in-kind contributions, we’ve secured over $4 million in value. The plans are approved. The agreements are signed. Everything is in place.

Now we need the final push — $2.81 million — to bring the Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica to Northern California.

This isn’t an idea. It’s ready to be built.

If each of us can think of just three people — a donor, a connector, or someone who believes in honoring our veterans — we can reach the people who will make this happen.

Share this. Start the conversation. Help us bring this place of remembrance to life.

🇺🇸 April 30, 1975 — The Fall of Saigon

For many, it marked the end of the Vietnam War.
But for those who served… and the families who lost someone… the impact never ended.

Yesterday, many of you shared names — names that deserve to be remembered, honored, and never forgotten.

That is why we are building the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall replica here in Citrus Heights.

So those names always have a place.

When many Vietnam veterans came home, they weren’t met with parades.
Too often, they were met with indifference… or worse.

They carried their service quietly.
They carried the cost quietly.
And for decades, too many carried it alone.

That’s why we’re building a permanent Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Citrus Heights—a place of honor, reflection, and education for generations to come.

If you have a Vietnam veteran in your life, tell us where they served (or simply share their name).
We want to honor them here.
