LIFE versus DEATH -

Did you know:
-- 83% of South American wildlife is extinct
-- 53 % of the Worlds wildlife has been driven into extinction within the past 4 years
-- 1 Elephant is killed every 15 minutes for their ivory
-- Elephants will be extinct by 2030
-- 1 Rhino is killed every 9 hours for their rhino horn
-- Rhinos will be extinct within the next couple of years.
-- Lions are being slaughtered in the wild to develop 'canned' lion hunting
-- Polar Bears will be extinct within the next 20 years

"Just scratchin' my toes!"

Did you know?

Elephants do not sweat through their skin. Their sweat glands are actually found between their toes.

Most mammals sweat through glands connected to their pores but elephants only have pores between their toes.

With all of their skin permeable, they lose far less moisture via evaporation and so are able to cool down faster.

Covering their bodies with mud and dirt also helps keep them cool as well as helps them remove insects.

The reality of Zimbabwe's culling of 200 elephants. This female, a regular in the bush around the tourist town of Victoria Falls, shot this morning, leaving 3 orphans. The creature was cut up on a road close to the World Heritage Site.

Boycott Zimbabwe Tourism! The leader promised to protect the elephants. There were over 40 million roaming the continent 100 years ago, now fewer than 400,000.

Safari tourism brings in big money, so don't go to ZIMBABWE!! BOYCOT, and go where they appreciate the sentiment creatures. They reproduce very slowly carrying their calf for 18 months, then nursing that calf until age 4.
