One of the things that makes the Mack Champ Invitational and MCI Showcase special happens before the first tee shot is even hit.

Each year, tournament week begins with a Welcome Dinner where players and families hear firsthand advice from collegiate coaches, professional athletes, and business leaders on competition, college pathways, leadership, and the opportunities that junior golf can create for a lifetime.

From collegiate pathways and leadership to perseverance, pressure, and purpose, our athletes hear firsthand wisdom from our distinguished panel of leaders.

This year’s panel includes retired MLB player Bobby Bonilla, Brian White of the Astros Golf Foundation, Coach Joanne Berglund from Rice University, Coach Leonard Smoot of Miles College, and entrepreneur Sam Wong, moderated by our Co-Founder and CEO Jeff Champ.

Because the Mack isn’t just about competition.

It’s about building pathways, creating connections, and preparing young people for success far beyond the course.

From the Mack Champ Invitational to the winner’s circle at the Nelly Invitational presented by Chevron. 💫

We could not be more proud of MCI alumna Vidhi Lakhawala on her incredible victory at the Nelly Invitational presented by Chevron — earning her an exemption into the 2027 LPGA Chevron Championship, one of the biggest stages in women’s golf.

This is what pathways to opportunity look like.

Vidhi competed in the Mack Champ Invitational as a young junior golfer chasing big dreams. Today, she’s a champion at one of the most prestigious events in junior golf and continuing her journey at Wake Forest University, Class of 2030.

At the Cameron Champ Foundation, we talk often about creating access, building pathways, and opening doors. Watching one of our own continue to rise through those pathways is incredibly special.

Vidhi once shared with us how meaningful her experience with the Cameron Champ Foundation had been in her journey. Seeing her now reach this milestone reminds us exactly why this work matters.
