The Rotary Club of Citrus Heights

A full house and a great Wednesday with the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights!

This week, we welcomed the Painted Ladies Rodeo Performers to share more about their organization, their work, and their commitment to the community. Thank you to the team for joining us and giving our members a look at what they do.

We also celebrated an important Rotary moment by officially welcoming Mai Vang as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights! Mai received her Certificate of Membership surrounded by fellow Rotarians as she begins her Rotary journey.

Between welcoming a new member, learning from our guests, sharing lunch, and planning for the many service projects and events ahead, it was another reminder of what Rotary is all about: building relationships and turning those connections into service.
Welcome to Rotary, Mai! And a special thank you to the Painted Ladies Rodeo Performers for spending part of your Wednesday with us.

Battle of the Bands, BBQ, and a great day of community service! 🎸

The Rotary Club of Citrus Heights had a great time at this year’s Battle of the Bands, coming together with our community in support of local veterans.

Our Rotarians were busy throughout the event serving drinks, lending a hand, connecting with attendees, and enjoying plenty of BBQ along the way. We were especially proud to have our own Diane and Ray take the stage and perform! Nothing like having Rotary represented both behind the booth and on the stage.

A special thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, performers, veterans, and community members who made the day possible. Events like this are a good reminder that service can look like a lot of things—and sometimes it comes with live music and BBQ.

Service Above Self. Community in action.

🍊 CITRUS HEIGHTS, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

If you could put a group of local volunteers behind one need in our community, what would you choose?

The Rotary Club of Citrus Heights brings neighbors, businesses, community leaders, and volunteers together to turn ideas into action. As Rotary's 2026 to 2027 message challenges us to Create Lasting Impact, we want to hear what lasting impact looks like to the people who actually live and work here.

Maybe it is supporting local students. Helping veterans. Serving seniors. Mentoring young people. Addressing hunger. Improving parks. Supporting families. Or maybe there is a need in Citrus Heights that deserves far more attention than it currently receives.

👇 What is one local need, project, or organization you think deserves more attention?

Tell us below. We will be reading the responses as we continue planning future service in Citrus Heights.

Know someone who always has ideas about making our community better? Invite them into the conversation.

We are your neighbors. We are People of Action. And we want to hear from you.

| The Evolution of the Rotary Wheel

One symbol. More than 120 years of impact.

From a simple wagon wheel in 1905 to the iconic gold gear recognized around the world today, the Rotary wheel tells the story of an organization that has never stopped moving forward. Each redesign reflects Rotary's growth—from a small group of business leaders into a global network of more than 1.2 million People of Action dedicated to creating lasting change.

While our emblem has evolved over the years, our mission has remained the same:

Service Above Self.

Here in Citrus Heights, we're proud to carry that tradition forward by serving our local community, building friendships, and creating opportunities to make a difference.

What's your favorite Rotary tradition or memory? Share it with us in the comments!

🔹 Andrew Van Duker

We're excited to have each of them join our Rotary family and look forward to the impact we'll make together in our community and beyond.

Thanks to the generosity of several club members who donated Foundation recognition points, John received this well-deserved honor in recognition of his continued commitment to Rotary and Service Above Self.

Moments like these remind us that Rotary is about more than meetings—it's about welcoming new leaders, recognizing dedicated volunteers, and building lasting friendships while serving our community.
