Sometimes joining in starts with just watching. π
Yesterday, a child came into Morning MESSA Lab who wasn't quite sure about joining the group.
And that was completely okay.
They found a spot at a nearby table where they could watch what we were doing without the pressure to jump right in. Throughout class, I offered a few easy, unintimidating ways to participate from where they were.
Little by little, they joined in.
And by the time we pulled out our big map for our geography game, they were ready. They came over, found a spot on the carpet, and stayed with us for the rest of class. β€οΈ
This is exactly what MESSA Lab is about.
A class where kids can participate without feeling put on the spot. Where activities are quick, fun, and easy to jump into. Where it's okay to watch first. And where hopefully, somewhere along the way, watching turns into joining.
Morning MESSA Lab is designed especially for 1stβ2nd graders, with games and activities for math, vocabulary, writing, geography, teamwork, and more.
And best of all, throughout the class I very subtly connect kids with each other so they can have a foundation to build friendships.
Come try it with us, walk ins always welcome
β even if your kiddo wants to watch for a while first. π
